As an alumni from this highschool, having attended from 7th grade to 12th, the school is just mediocre. Its pricey, and if you have money to burn then go for it. I'm not saying its a complete waste, its a safe enviornment, the teachers actually do care about the students, and they can make some lifelong friendships...but...I wish I could've went to Harding Academy, or Immaculate Conception or something. There are some rules there that both parents and students can agree on that are "petty." As far as the classes go, I didn't really get much out of them, especially in English Literature class. The teacher was a football/basketball coach, so I doubt your child will learn much either unless he or she (mostly he) is an athlete. Secondly, don't count on any guidance from the guidance counselor to help with college decisions. She knows probably just as much as you do, if not less. Besides she's too "occupied" doing other things than to help kids out with college choices, so if you do go to college, your parents did all the work. She can't tell you anything about loans, and her range of colleges are limited, she only knows about the University of Memphis, Lemoyne-Owen, Southwest Community College (her favorite), and the University of Tennessee (Chatt, Knox, etc..) if all that isn't a problem for you, its the perfect school. The principal is great though.
