Creve Coeur Camera's School of Imaging.
Teacher Ed Szczepanski
Classes taken - Portrait Photography, F/Stops HUH?, Wedding Photography For the Beginner and Lighting.
Photography is my hobby, I love to take portraits of family and friends, wildlife, landscape and sports, (Cardinal Baseball). I have been shooting exclusively digital since 2004. I started with a point and shoot and then went to an in-between DSLR with a Fuji FinePix S9100 which has a fixed lenses. Last October I made the jump to Canon 50D and have since added several lenses.
After six months of shooting with my new camera I felt I needed to get some training. I bought a book to work on my own and also started looking for somewhere to take Photography classes. I found Creve Coeur Camera through an online search and it was just what I was looking for, the subjects I was interested in, reasonable cost and convenient times that fit my schedule.
My first class was Portrait Photography. I found Ed to be an excellent teacher. He is very knowledgeable, easy going and was willing to answer any question that the class had. The material covered was very useful and easy to understand. I learned so much about light, aperture and f-stops that I decided to sign up for the F-stop class to get further understanding.
The Wedding Photography class helped to prepare me for my Niece's wedding in South Carolina. I wasn't the official photographer but the father, daughter team that was, were generous and allowed me to take photos at will. For the rehearsal I was the only photographer and got some great shots which my niece loved. There was also a printed class outline that we got to take home. Great information!
Lastly I took the Lighting class because I hope to eventually setup a home studio. Again Ed was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot about light placement, backdrops and lighting equipment.
For those looking for classes that are planning on making photography a career Ed has tons of experience that he related through out the classes giving countless tips on preparing, equipment and how to get the "Money Shots".
So I would definitely recommend any of these classes to anyone who wanted to improve their understanding of photography and more importantly improve the images they bring home.
Well worth your time and money.
