On Feb. 2, 2007 I went to Budget Brakes on Nolensville Pike in Nashville, TN.,I talked with Mr. Kimbrough and received an estimate (#31444)- invoice #25424. This gave me a line item brake-down of Parts cost, Labor and Total for each job. It was clean cut- not hard to under stand. He even pulled the wheels off to explain what needed to be done in detail. Mainly the rear bearings and seals I even asked "is that all" his reply was "that was it".
So I went back on Friday Feb. 16 to have the rear bearings, seals and right front ABS sensor replaced. Also, I had informed him I purchased my own parts at a much lower cost than what was on the estimate.
The labor to R&R rear bearings, Seals, R/F ABS sensor and shop supply cost came to $174.95 and I had a $25.00 off coupon. I was not hard to figure what I was going to pay: $149.95 + $13.87 for tax which the bill should of read a total of $163.82. When I returned to pick my car up later that afternoon - SUPPRISE! $314.88 I had showed the person that was checking me out at the register to explain the big difference. He started to come up with other work that was not on the estimate. I told him this it not right to get Mr. Kimbrough so I can talk with him. Mr. Kimbrough did not come to the front desk, but the person said he will be willing to give me a discount, so my bill was now down to $220.00 this is wrong doing by Budget Brakes. I was so upset about the knifing they were pulling on me and did not want to make a seen, I just paid the bill and left.
I will be sending this to the media as well as the BBB. Danny S, Franklin TN.
