Move on? The gentleman retired - as he should have. He stayed active as pastor much longer than they usually do. I've known this man practically all my life (and I'm 54). Don't know anything about the new guy, as I moved out of state back in 1975 and haven't been back to that church. Wayne Butcher well deserved retirement and I hope he and Berniece are enjoying it.

Then why did the church body vote out Dwight? He was the person to stay and be our pastor. The church body voted for a new pastor--no one will be like Weets--everyone is different. So if you want to blame someone for this problem, LOOK IN THE MIRROR MY FRIEND. You are the ones that voted the best candidate out!!

Awesome music! There is some from the old hymns as well as new upbeat music for the young generation. The people are very friendly. The new pastor is right on track, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead him. The pastor is staying up with the age of computers by offering a way to pay tithes and offerings through your cell phone online right in serivce! Pastor is very knowledgable of the Bible and knows how to make it apply to today's issues. The new Choir Pastor fits right in with the lead pastor and is putting an awesome, very large, beautiful sounding choir together. These people truly must make God happy! :-)

Music was way too loud! Pastor said the old testament was not relavant for today. Sure liked the former Pastor a whole lot better. Only church I know of where they want you to pay your offerning by credit card.

Waukee Baptist is the best church that I have ever been to! The people are very welcoming and it is a very comfortable environment to be in.
You don't have to dress up, some come casual and wear jeans.
The service is awesome and applies to your every day life.

This church was built and founded by God, and Brother Wayne Butcher was the man who built it and served as Pastor for years, then when Brother Butcher decided to move on, he made a mistake and everyone who originally went to the church, including me and my family pretty much all have since left. The new pastor their is more about the money, especially his wife.

Highly spirited Group with songs that make you want to get up an sing along as well as dance to the music....Everyone at the church is treated as a brother or sister in other words a family dynamic sets this church a part from the rest in Des Moines, IA. Pastor Terry Pauley and Sister Diana make it awesome as well as many others. If you want to have a good time with sermons that are short an to the point dealing with real world issues an just have a great time come by our church located at SW 1st Street just off Indianola Ave. All walks of life are welcome to come join in on the fun on Fridays @ 7:30PM.

PS. VICTORY OUTREACH DES MOINES HAS Recently relocted to 607 Douglas Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313 just two blocks north of Euclid from the intersection of 6th Ave

There is a Spanish service offered on Sunday afternoon and also free ESL classes for people who want to learn English, which was pretty interesting due to the fact that the Latin or Hispanic population in Waukee is very low 0.7%. We had the chance to attend both services the English and Spanish one, but unfortunately the service offered for the Latin or Hispanic community is very very disorganized to the contrary of the English morning service. I won't recommend to any Spanish speaker person to attend Waukee Baptist Church Spanish Service for two main resons. First if you have children and want them to attend the sunday school while parents are attending the main service, the person in charge of the sunday school will not be responsable for anything that may happen to your children. This includes children fighting in the playground located on the childcare center next to the church without the supervision of a responsible adult. Children from 7 months old to teenagers are in the same sunday school class, which means that there is no differentiation in the activities and obviously the teacher is going to be more focused on babysitting that really tailoring the children spiritual needs.
Second reason and I think the most important, is because as a church member you cannot express your feelings of unhappiness about how the problems in the Spanish services had being handle, because the pastor and his wife can come right to your house with a bad attitude to "straight out" or "clarify some points" in a very disrespectful way. To end with all the drama and provide one more reason for not to attend the Waukee Baptist Church Spanish Service, is the fact that the pastor himself admitted that whatever happened to the people after his service is not his bussiness, so in that Spanish service they are not responsable for children and after the service they won't provide any guidance as well. So there is no point of attending a place that will not going to help you build and coach your spiritual life, because it seems that over there they are just worry about filling up numbers of people who attend the church
