Miscellaneous Relationships

Another name for this section would be Life. How else would you title a section that contains topics like Things People May Assume About Others, Things to Do on a Friday Night, Universal Pet Peeves, and Lousy Situations? Also in this section, you can take a public poll on favorite guilty pleasures and which services call for a tip.

Sometimes when reading a review that I feel is showing someone's ignorance or stupidity, I might want to say something, and sometimes I might, depending on what the situation is. But there are times when the reviews themselves are very revealing, and needs no further comment.

Ignorance in itself isn't stupid, but choosing to stay that way is.

Usually, you would envision a real young person doing something like this, but I have seen plenty of people who are older who fit this bill. When I see things like this, it just tells me that the one playing the loud music is refusing to grow up. But, I realize that there may be some special cases where an individual may be a little hard of hearing, and have to have it up a little louder. If that's the case, then as far as I'm concerned, that would be very acceptable.

It's not for me. . .but while I'm at wine tastings I do employ the famous lack-of-diversity game I've mentioned before - "Spot the African-American at Fenway Park!"

Oh, please. . .

I'm not on this monstrosity but rest assured it is not the domain of whitey exclusively. . .

. . .a clever addition to this inside-joke of a list. . .

. . .yes, it is a paleface thing amongst some legitimate crusaders of social justice but certainly held by mostly disaffected college students.

I once got long stares from a graduate class and the professor by saying I wasn't interested in diversity- I said-

"I want the best minds and the most talent. . .ergo, it's not diversity." Some of them got it. . .the dim bulbs didn't. . .

One must admit- organic food stores (and organic sections in the supermarket) attract whiteys the way children attracted Michael Jackson or whiskey attracted Ted Kennedy. . .

Err. . .strange listing. . .

. . .as opposed to believing that a weak vocabulary is the strongest indicator of some spectacular intellect or insight than those who can read simply cannot comprehend?

There are cases where exceptions exist (I can think of a few) but sorry, kids- a solid command of the language is a good indicator of mind, process, inquiry, experience, and education in most but not all cases.
