I like this show. All the other cooking shows are carefully planned and edited so that what airs is perfect. I mean by that, what airs are dishes that work, the cake never flops and the rice never sticks. Not exactly the way it works in real life. The Iron Chef is a contest show. Each week a challenger comes on the show and picks the Iron Chef he wants to compete against. The Iron Chefs, four of them, each have their own style of cooking; Chinese, Japanese, French and Italian. After the choice is made the Iron Chef and the challenger take their places in Kitchen Stadium, which is two identical kitchens set side by side. Then they are told the secret ingredient that they must use in each dish they prepare. Sometimes it is a fruit or vegetable, sometimes a meat, and sometimes it is alive. Then they have one hour to prepare as many dishes based on the theme ingredient. At the end of the hour the food is tasted and judged by a panel of experts, and a winner is chosen. These guys cook under a great deal of pressure. Their skills and abilities are amazing. Sometimes the dishes work, and sometimes the judges say it tastes terible. Either way, we see the results.

I love to watch him on the screen, but I wouldn't want him for a neighbor. His character was crude, drunken, mean to women and children, lazy and given to telling lies. But, as much as it pains me to admit it, I find him very funny and I don't know why. I guess, at times, we have all wanted to say the things he did, we are just to nice to do it.

I think we must be very careful when passing any laws out of fear. We cannot be hasty in making laws that give away our freedoms, once they are gone they will not easily be recovered. The president wants the power to use U.S. Military forces to enforce laws here at home. The president wants to make this hugh Homeland Security department that will basically answer only to him. All of this scares me. When the constitution was written, one of the key points was a balance of power between the three branches of government. With the way the president wants to redesign it, he has the biggest branch, and it looks like a club.

I agree that this sequel is not as good as the original. However, it was fun to go back and revisit all the old characters, and most of the aliens, from the first movie. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith are very good together. They are exact opposites, so there is lots of material to use for joke writing. You have the young versus old thing, the hip versus square thing, the black versus white thing. There was just so many places that the writers could have taken this movie that, maybe, they were overwhelmed. I am sure they have plenty of unexplored plot twists, so we may see a MIB3 someday. I hope so.

This cartoon has nothing to do with rockets that blast into space. It is about a retired surfer named Ray Rocket who is raising two kids, as a single dad, in sunny California. The show revolves around the son and daughter, Otto and Reggie, and their friends. The kids are expert surfers, rollerbladers, and skateboarders. All this action grabs the attention of the kids in the viewing audience and often lessons are taught about dealing with friends, or jealosy, or being sensitive to the feelings of others. It is fun to watch and the animation is good. Try it and see for yourself.

When I went to see Spiderman it had only been released a couple of days. It was very crowded and it seemed to me that the theater was filled with two very different groups of people. Half the crowd had never read a Spiderman comic book, and knew absolutely nothing about the characters. The other half knew way too much about Spidey to be healthy. Before the movie started I said to my wife that one half of the audience or the other would have to be disappointed. If it were deep enough to impress the experts it would be way over the heads of the novices. I could not have been more wrong. The whole audience was entertained and everyone enjoyed it. The movie is about 90% true to the comic book. I remember seeing this movie advertised in theaters before the September attacks. In those early promos they showed an amazing scene where Spiderman spun a web between the Twin Towers and caught a helicopter. After the attacks, the movie's release was held up and all scenes of the Towers were removed. Some day, in the future, when the wounds heal, I would like to see the original version and compare it to what was released.

I feel that if a person is a Christian they should present Christ to the world through their actions and attitudes. Christ had little time for rulers and polititians. Jerry Falwell emerses himself in politics. Christ always dealt with sinners through love, and a desire to see them helped in any way He could. Falwell has a attitude of anger and if you don't agree with him, you must be a sinner. Christ was content to convict by His love and convince by His teaching. Falwell is quick to condemn because of predjudice. Christ saw everyone as extremely important and worthy of dying for. Falwell sees a persons worth as how much can they help him. Jesus Christ was poor His whole life, in the eyes of the world. Falwell is rich, and having his reward now.

Erma Bombeck is not so much a comedy writer as she is a philosopher on the simple things in life. She looks at the situations we all go through, the everyday drudgery, and shows us a different angle on it that makes us laugh. She is a feel-good writer. When you finish reading something she has written, you feel a little bit better about yourself. I miss her and am sorry she passed away.

Review Icon stooge reviewed A-Team in '80s TV Shows:
This show could only be enjoyed if you ignored all the absurdities and looked for the laughs. Mr. T, with all that jewelry, fixing broke down cars with no tools or parts. Nobody ever gets hurt and at the end they shoot about a thousand rounds of amunition, but nobody gets hit. Then for no reason, the bad guys throw down their guns and give up. But, if you can overlook the lame plots, there are some laughs along the way.

Review Icon stooge reviewed Soap in '70s TV Shows:
This show was not one of my personal favorites but it deserves some respect because it was one of the first shows to feature a gay character, and it was probably the first show to show a gay character in a positive manner. It also was the show that introduced us to the character of "Benson", that spun-off into a better show than this one.
