New Jersey Nets forward Kenyon Martin, during an altercation with teammate Alonzo Mourning, mockingly said "My kidney, my kidney" when pushed by Mourning to be more of a team leader. Mourning, 33, suffers from focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a severe kidney disease. Days later, the disease forced Mourning to retire, and it was announced he will need a kidney transplant.
