The Middle East was not always the risky region it has become. For much of the 20th century the Middle East was a popular exotic destination for many tourists around the world. Many wanting to seek out their roots in ancestral homelands. Even now, with violence and terror gripping the region some still take the risk to see an area of the world rich with history and wonder.
