This museum, founded in 1867 by royal decree, houses artifacts from the important histories of Greece, Rome, Egypt, and of course, Spain. They range in period from the prehistoric to the baroque, and include primitive carvings, relics of churches and monasteries, and reproduced images of cave art, among other interesting pieces.
