Great Movie Ensembles

On very rare occasions in movies, the script, the direction and the performances of ensembles larger that six leads achieve equal footing, a balancing act of considerable difficulty that brings forth a compelling experience, pretty much like what happens with Ingmar Berman's flicks. By themselves, the size of the cast and the stature of the screenwriter and the director are not enough. What matters is that the parts make the whole successful. How many flawless favorites are there?
