Is there ever a good reason to lie?

Do people that lie really ever change their ways? Is a little white lie different than a big black lie? Is it OK to lie to your spouse sometimes? And, most important...can you ever trust someone that casually lies when the truth would never even have hurt? Is it an illness or a choice? Which lies more, men or women? DO MOST people lie and should we just accept it as the norm - human nature? Hmmmm.....
