Album Covers (Pop/Rock Classics)

The art of the apt and striking album cover flourishes; but there still remain in our collective memory a good number of classic cover designs that have become a part of our cultural legacy, nearly inseparable from early experiences. To compile the list of favorites together could become an enjoyable experience so, feel free to submit your own and any less special ones that should be included here, through 1996, preferably, but not exclusively. The cover art is the thing: one need not like the artist or the music. Only restriction (I think): covers for anthologies or 'best of...' compilations, as creative as they may be, are not an authentic part of this collective consciousness. (Acknowledgment: Ridgewalker's mentoring on the illustrations which, for the time being, are a work in progress, so bear with us).

Star Rating Scale: 1 = Bland / 2 = Unoriginal / 3 = Provocative, but... / 4 = Classy / 5 = Beyond categorizing
