Album Covers (Jazz Classics)

The art of the album cover first flourished with jazz recordings; there are a good number of classic covers that bear close scrutiny and have become a part of American cultural legacy. This list of personal favorites may be enriched to be enjoyed as an opportunity to submit other more special. The cover art is the thing: one need not like the artist(s), the instrument or the music. Anthologies or 'best of...' compilations may be included, so long as they do not reproduce earlier designs. (Acknowledgment: Ridgewalker's mentoring on the illustrations which, for the time being, are a work in progress, so bear with us).

Star Rating Scale: 1 = Pedestrian / 2 = Unsuccessful / 3 = Original, but... / 4 = Remarkable / 5 = In stone
