Migraine Drugs

Although the mechanism of migraine remains incompletely understood, there is growing evidence that migraine is a neurovascular disorder. The aura that precedes some migraines is a slow march of visual or other neurologic symptoms associated with changes in neuronal activity that result in spreading neural depression from the occipital cortex. Excitatory changes produce increased blood flow, followed by reduced blood flow caused by neuronal inhibition (WebMD). Listed are some migraine drugs. Please rate as to the effectiveness for you as a patient.

Star Rating Scale: 1 = I might as well take a sugar pill / 2 = Does not work for me / 3 = No better than any of the other drugs available / 4 = Works most of the time / 5 = Excellent drug, very helpful
