The LLC is a new Business entity (created in the 70s) which is, in many ways, much like a sole proprietorship or partnership with limited liability. The people that control the business are refered to as members. the LLC can only have two of the four corporate characteristics (continuity of life, limited liability, centralized management, and free transfer of interests).
