The fifth generation iPod, unofficially called iPod Video, was introduced in 2005, shortly after the introduction of the iPod Nano. The fifth generation iPod featured a 2.5" screen and a smaller Click Wheel. It was the first generation that offered a a black option alongside the signature white edition.
