I've never quite understood why you'd want to own your apartment. Because that's basically what living in a condo is. It's still an apartment (neighbors on the other side of the wall, above and/or below you) but now you own it and you're responsible for repairs instead of a landlord. It's also somewhat confusing as you own the inside, but you don't own the roof or the outside walls.

My opinion: If you want a house and can afford one, get one. Otherwise, rent. Condos seem like a weird half-way point to me.

Rucker has been quite successful with his recent foray into country music, but unfortunately his solo country stuff doesn't sound that much different from his old Hootie and the Blowfish stuff. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, I'm just not sure it's country.

Supposedly his more pop-like sound isn't even his own fault. According to an interview I saw with him a few months ago, he went into the recording session with a much more country sound, and the record company bigwigs told him it was too country. It's a shame too, because I'd like to know what he sounded like with his own take on country music as opposed to doing it the way the record company people wanted.

At the risk of exposing you to Christmas related material almost a month before anyone should really have to deal with such things, "Christmas in Jail" is probably my favorite song from Asleep at the Wheel, so here you go.

"My Heart Has a History" and "I Do" were pretty good, but Brandt hasn't really done much else of note.

More like 3.5 stars. Taylor Swift is talented, she writes her own songs, and being a cute blonde certainly hasn't hurt her career. That being said, she's a bit too much pop and not enough country for my taste. Congratulations on winning CMA Entertainer of the Year at only 19 years old, Taylor, you sold the albums and concert tickets it takes to earn that award. However, I really do hope that this isn't the direction that country music is taking. But country music has recovered from worse misdirection than this (John Denver won Entertainer of the Year in 1975, and it took over a decade for country music to recover from some of the crap put out in the mid to late 70s).

I would guess that if there is any shred of truth to it, that it would have predated the potato's introduction to Ireland, and would have been something that happened in either Spain or Portugal in the early to mid 1500s. Of course, I'm still just guessing.

Absolutely. If it were a real decree, a simple google search for Catholic Church and potato would have revealed numerous sources. All I'm saying is that people may have assumed that the Church declared them evil because their parish priest told them not to eat potatoes. Of course that's if it even happened at all.

I would actually be more surprised if something as large as a semi truck didn't show up on radar. Radio waves have a fairly large wavelength (on the order of a few meters), and while I don't know exactly what wavelength is used in radar, I would suspect that it is smaller than the length of a semi. Therefore, a semi should easily reflect the radio waves. Nothing unusual about it.

I somewhat suspect that this item is a a twist on something that may have actually happened. The potato is in the nightshade family, and Europeans initially suspected that it was poisonous. I would not be surprised if certain members of the clergy, often the most educated people in the community, had warned people not to eat potatoes. If this was true, the common person may have not realized that the fear was that they were potentially poisonous, instead just assuming that they were evil.

Keep in mind that this is pure speculation on my part, the only things above that I know for sure is that the potato is in the nightshade family, and that some Europeans thought they might be poisonous. The rest is mere conjecture based on this information.
