1. How do I rate things on RateItAll?
It's easy! Just click the "Rate It!" link next to the item you want to rate on any ratings list or fill in the review field on any listing page.
When you click a "Rate It!" link for the first time, you'll go to a page that asks you to fill out a registration along with your review. We ask you to register because it allows us to protect the integrity of our ratings.
Once you're a registered user, clicking a "Rate It!" link will take you to a RateIt! pop-up window. To leave your opinion, first use the drop-down menu (or click on the stars) to give the item a rating of 1 (Terrible!), 2 (Bad), 3 (OK), 4 (Good), or 5 (Great!). Then click inside the white box near the bottom of the pop-up window and write a text review of the item (the longer the better!). When you're done, just click the "SUBMIT!" button and your opinion will be entered into our database and post to the site immediately.
2. How do I add a new listing to RateItAll list?
On each ratings list page, you will see a link that says "Add a New Item to this List." This link is located in the "Actions" box in the right hand column. Registered RateItAll members have the option of submitting a review in tandem with their new listing suggestion. For help with adding new listings, click HERE.
Once your new listing is approved by RateItAll staff, you will receive a notification email with a link to that listing.
Registered users who have a new item listing approved will be accredited on that page, with a link to their profile page.
3. How do I meet people on RateItAll?
Meeting people on RateItAll is easy. The first thing you should do is to set up a User Profile Page. You can do this by clicking on the Profile Page link in the upper right hand corner of every page. Make sure to share something about yourself, and if you upload a photo, even better!
To learn more about any reviewer on RateItAll, just click on their User Name and visit their Profile Page. On a Profile Page, you can see photos, read their personal profile, read comments that the reviewer has posted, see WebLists that they have published, and even send them a personal message.
Once you have set up your profile, join into the discussion. Start by rating and reviewing things that you like and dislike - people will soon notice your comments and may contact you for more information. And if you read a review that you like, make sure to send the reviewer a personal message saying you appreciate their comments!
Other helpful hints for meeting people include adding reviewers to your trusted network, and checking in the right margin of ratings lists you are interested in for folks that share your interest.
Once you're comfortable with RateItAll, you should try setting up a WebList of your own and invite your new friends to participate by sending them a postcard invitation.

4. How can I get notified of new reviews on a certain subject or from a certain reviewer?
Registered RateItAll members can sign up for the following email alerts:
1) Email notification when a new review is posted to a specific page
2) Email notification when a new listing is added to a specific ratings list
3) Email notification when a specific user leaves a new review
4) Email notification when a specific user creates a new Weblist
#1 can be triggered from three places: the ratings list page, the RateIt! page, and the item page.
#2 can be triggered from the ratings list page.
#3 and #4 can be triggered from that user's profile page.
You can turn off your email alerts by clicking on the Profile Page link in the top right corner of every page, and then clicking on the link that says "View and Change Your Alerts."
5. How do I add people to my trusted network?

6. How can I change my ratings?
You can change your previously submitted ratings and comments any time you want. Just find a page that shows the item you want to re-rate and click the link that says "Change." That will open a pop-up window that shows your old rating and comment. Just make whatever changes you want and click the "SUBMIT!" button. Your changes will be made immediately.
7. How can I change my registration information?
To change your registration information, go to your profile page and click on the link on the left hand side that says "Edit/Delete" my account. Be careful not to accidentally delete your account!
8. Does RateItAll edit the ratings or comments that people leave?
We never edit your ratings or comments. Once you share an opinion, it goes right into the database. We do, however, reserve the right to delete comments that contain offensive material (hate group propaganda, extreme profanity, etc.).
9. Is my information safe with you?
Yes, your information is safe with us! RateItAll will NOT release your personal information without your consent. Period. For details, please read our Privacy Policy.
10. How can I use RateItAll to make buying decisions?
Here's an example: let's say you're thinking about buying some new music. If you go to our "Alternative/Indie Rock Musicians" page, you can quickly find the top rated bands. By clicking the "Get Trusted Recommendations" link, you can find out what your trusted network recommends. You can also message directly with reviewers with experience with a given product or service.
11. How can I use RateItAll to share my opinion?
Here's an example: let's say you just took a trip and the airline treated you poorly. If you go to our "Airlines" ratings list, you can give that airline a low rating, then leave a text review that warns other people not to fly with them.
12. How can I use RateItAll to start an information search?
Here's an example: let's say you want to find some good Web sites about a certain actress. If you go to our "Actresses" page and click on the name of the actress you're interested in, you will find a list of links that have all kinds of information about her.
13. How can I delete my account?
To delete your account, go to your profile page and click on the link on the left hand side that says "Edit/Delete" my account. Then click the link at the bottom of the page that says "Delete Account." This action is irreversible and will completely remove all of your information (reviews, Weblists, ratings) from our servers.
