As the WebList section grows in popularity, it makes sense to set some simple guidelines in order to ensure maximum enjoyment for all.
Please do your best to adhere to the following guidelines:
Duplication
Weblists may not duplicate any RateItAll ratings list or any other WebList. This includes duplicating an existing list with a reversed ratings scale - for example creating a WebList of Worst Comedy TV Show when there is already a RateItAll List of (Best) Comedy TV Shows.
If more than a couple items of your WebList duplicate items on an existing ratings list, your entire WebList may be deleted. We strongly recommend searching both the main RateItAll index and the WebList section for similar ratings lists before investing your time in creating a new WebList.
Ratings Format
WebLists must be structured in a ratings format. In other words, WebLists must consist of a number of items that can intuitively be rated between 1 and 5 stars. WebLists consisting of open-ended questions such as "Why did the United States invade Iraq?" don't fit into this format, and will most likely be deleted.
Focused Theme
WebLists must address some theme, no matter how broad. For example, a WebList entitled "Tell me how you feel about..." will most likely be deleted, as it fails to address a theme.
List Format
WebLists must include at least two items.
Nonsense WebLists
WebLists that are utterly nonsensical will be deleted. We will only rarely make judgments as to the worthiness of a WebList, but in cases in which a WebList makes no sense and appears to have been slapped together with little or no thought or effort, that WebList will most likely be deleted.
Site Rules
WebLists must be consistent with the overall RateItAll Site Rules which prohibit hateful language, plagiarized content, etc.
Have a question about whether a WebList is off limits? Feel free to email info@rateitall.com or send a private message to any of the RIA Moderators. |
