Not always. My late corgi Nigel Griffin-Jones would not allow grooming to be done on him at home. And believe me, he backed it up with a healthy mouthful of razor-sharp teeth. On the other hand, I once had a very large, very mellow Tom cat named George who would let me do anything short of a permanent wave without a bit of fuss. Not that I tried often (as cats prefer to be self-cleaning). I do recall one time though when the dog decided to mop up the muddy back yard with him when they were playing and a trip to the tub was not optional. Hey, if you love 'em you take what comes with their individual personalities.
