Thu Apr 22 2010Daffy had 2 sides to him- the goofy but vulnerable everyman and the self-preservationist who's jealous and greedy. Some say he's annoying, but that's his charm. He represents us how we see ourselves, unlike Bugs Bunny who represents how we wish we were. He was introduced by Tex Avery via Porky Pig and stole the show from him. Porky stole it back in You Ought To Be In Pictures (Friz Freleng's masterpiece). He drives Elmer Fudd crazy in To Duck Or Not To Duck and A Pest In The House. He seems to get the best out of Porky Pig (at least until the very last moment) in Fool Coverage, Thumb Fun and Tom Turk And Daffy (he does win out in Cracked Quack). He's goofy in Nasty Quacks, Along Came Daffy and Slightly Daffy. With Bugs, he's conniving and manipulative in Rabbit Fire, Duck! Rabbit! Duck! and People Are Bunny and tries hard in vain to steal the spotlight from Bugs in Show Biz Bugs. Wed Jul 02 2008Second only to Bugs in ranking IMO. Daffy and Elmer were a good combo, but when he tried to take on Bugs he always lost. Great rivalry between them. Funny stuff.

Tue Sep 19 2006Daffy is my absolute favourite cartoon character of all time up there with Sylvester the Cat. Daffy is so neurotic and looses his temper at the slightest thing and has absolutely no patience whatsoever that you can only laugh when he gets mad over petty things. His rivalry with Bugs is absolutely legendary as Bugs is a cartoon character thats almost too perfect whilst Daffy is the polar opposite full of nothing but flaws - maybe thats why hes admired so much.
