Owned many 911s, I'd have to say that the 1996-1998 models are the most traditional looking porches that you can buy.  If I was to buy a 911, I'd probably buy a model from those years.   The car is very fast, has high acceleration, great braking and handling, and it looks very nice.  Of course parts cost a lot like most all German cars do.  In comparison with other cars this automobile has a smaller engine but can produce more power than bigger ones...amazing.

Not only are the Carreras awesome looking and driving, but they are problem free. This is one of the few autos that literally has it all. The only draw back is the current price tag - starting around $84,000 for a fairly base model. I owned 4 new ones before they priced themselves above what I can afford. My favorite was a '99 Carrera S in black. That's the turbo wide body without the turbo engine. It was a real head turner! I should also add that I consistently got 24-26mpg! What other true exotic car can claim that?

German cars are the BEST, period. Incredible engineering, ergonomics, performance, interiors, styling, etc. etc. The 911 is an automotive LEGEND with a great pedigree. This car deserves a THOUSAND stars, period!

Nothing but problems from the day I drove it off the lot. I dont feel that these cars a built for quality, but more for show. A big disappointment.

I had a tough time driving this car. I've got big feet, and the clutch and brake are so close together it kind of throws you off. It's a fun drive but I'd go for something else if I had that kind of cash.

Extreme car. It may have some problems in the engine sometimes but the outside is just a BEAUTY. The car maybe slow (0-100 in 5.2 to 4.2) but I think it's design costs a million.

The 911 Turbo is probably the most practical and user friendly exotic on the road today. Try one if you can, you'll be going so fast, no one will hear your passengers screaming for dear life!

I'd rate it higher except it's overpriced. They've had the same body/engine for 30 years with tweaks here and there. Price should be lower!

No competition with this car. Still, not as good as the Spyder, but still a beautiful car, and deserves to be at the top.

The only sports car that has remained true to it's roots-evolution at it's finest-a car that continually makes you a better driver-can keep up with just about everything and for a lot less money-best brakes and acceleration in the world-just what I want parked next to my Z someday

911 should only come in TwinTurbo form...which I consider to be one of the most high speed stable and fast cars in the world.

Over priced Toy. Even when the 911 is turboed & maxed out; the Viper is just starting to breathe. Come on..

Money aside, if i was only able to own 1 car for the rest of my life, it would be the 1997 Porsche 911 turbo, the BEST overall package. You get AWD to keep you out of trouble, killer acceleration, handling and looks. Prestige, comfort, speed, what else could you ask for?

The best sports car ever created is the Porsche 911 Turbo. That car is the fastest, most stylish car that you can have for under $150,000 dollars.

I really need the turbo version to come back. But it's still the greatest sports car.
