I thought his stuff varied in quality. . .it ranged from boring to funny.  But I've always felt that despite his legions of fans, Carrey was quite overrated and (when interviewed) quite boorish without much charisma.  It was like he felt far more comfortable behind the mic or the camera.  Still, some of his shtick was funny and some of it wasn't.

i love jim carry, he is in my top ten for celebrities i love and respect. i just dont think his stand up is funny. 10 for personality and dramatic work, 2 for stand up.

go back and watch his standup before and during in living color. totally amazing. a genious at physical humor and impressions, and as wild and silly as steve martin. now he's played out, but his old act still makes me laugh out loud.

Actually quite funny. Goes a bit overboard but that's the fun part.

Jim is brilliant as a stand up all you have to do is see him at an award show and you will agree. He needs to do standup every once in a while to keep his edge. I have not liked all of his movies but when he is funny he is really funny. He was the best thing on Living Color.

My favorite was The Truman Show.!

He's pretty good, but no genius by any means. Ive enjoyed some of his movie roles, such as The Mask and Pet Detective. I did not like Dumb and Dumber. Me, Myself, and Ireene was not funny at all. He seems to be going downhill as time goes on. I think its safe to say that he's nothing like he used to be.

If I could kill one person in the world, it would be Jim Carrey for being so stupid and so idiotic.

Some of his films were great (The Majestic, The Mask, Liar Liar), and some of his films were unwatchable (Ace Ventura 1 & 2)...but his stand up career was just in the middle somewhere.

He may be funnier doing his stand up than trying to act, but that wouldn't take much.

I can't rate him more than 3 stars. All he seems to do is contort his face and do silly voices. The only thing where I can honestly say I love him in is 'The Truman Show', he's still a bit cheesy, but for once he shows real depth.

He has talent. He can be good when he's not being crude. He also needs to be watched sparingly. I can only handle so much of him at once.

I'd go so far as to call this man a hero. His physical comedy is beyond my words. And I admire the fact that he is experimenting with other genres.

An outrageous performer and talented comedian, his style is one which you cannot characterize. His delivery is completely off the wall, contorting his body and throwing himself around stage is something you just cannot miss. Another thing I appreciate about Jim is that he does not play blue as many other young comedians do.

Carrey Is CraZy and Hilarious I don think anyone can compare to him...All of his movies leave me crying from laughter.... Especially in Me Myself and Irene.... lol sum of the things he did were funny as hell..... Plus he makes like the funniest faces and sounds. Even the way he moves his body can make a person laugh... I can't wait to see him in the Grinch......He truly has a gift and not many ppl can do wut he does thats wuh makes him soooo special !!!

Jim Carrey is a true comic genius! He combines great physical comedy with a razor sharp wit. I enjoyed his hilarious antics on "In Living Color" and have been a huge fan ever since. Canada should declare him a national treasure! Favorite character: Fire Marshall Bill. Favorite movie: "Me, Myself, & Irene".

Jim Carey is funny but sometimes very odd a lil to odd!! But he is a great actor as well with his million different faces and voices. I especially find Ace Ventura Pet Detective one and two very hilarious.

Jim Carrey is the funniest actor in terms of putting his body into the act. He can even do serious too. I find myself copying his antics all the time.

Jim Carrey was meant to be a star. Even as a child he went out of his way to make people laugh. He was so good that teachers would give him time in class to entertain his classmates. That's why he is where he is now because he does whatever it takes to make his audience laugh.

I love this guy! His style of humor is original as well as hilarious. His best works are Dumb and Dumber, Andy Kaufman, Ace Ventura, etc. All his movies are entertaining. You either love him or hate him.

He is totally animated, and people of all ages can enjoy his comedy. He doesn't always use profanity, so younger audiences can enjoy his work. He has impressions of almost any and every famous Hollywood movie star. He's very active in his comedy, so if he plays a baboon he goes and turns into a baboon.

The best comedian of this decade. Perfect comedic timing mixed with outrageous physical comedy. Being twelve and watching the 1st Ace Ventura had me almost peeing my pants. Not only is he an outstanding comedian he is also a great dramatic actor. He was superior and frighteningly similar to Andy Kaufman.

Jim Carrey is my favorite actor. I don't think he does that great as a more serious actor, like in the Truman Show. He's better wild & crazy like Ace Ventura, but not stupid like Dumb $ Dumber. He's really good because people of all ages enjoy his humor. He appeals to kids and adults, and I think that's important. He's just a really nice guy.

He's been my favorite since the In Living Color days with Fire Marshall Bill and that mean looking chick. His facial expressions and imitations have to be the funniest, like what he did with Vanilla Ice and other artists, especially the expressions on the classic Ace Ventura. His energy is sometimes unmatched by any other comedians out there. He's at the top of my list.

Great... Jim Carrey is by far the funniest man alive! Aside from being an extremely good actor, he can play any role. His humor is extremely energetic and involves great skills. He is also very versatile, appealing to kids and adults alike.

I saw him doing stand-up in Santa Monica during the mid 80's. He had hysterical then and he's only gotten better. Congratulations Jim.

I love Jim Carrey!!! He is so talented and funny that it's hard not to like him!! He does such a good job at all the parts he plays. My favorite role that he did would definately have to be Truman Burbank!! He did a fantastic job playing that part!!! He's the best actor in the world and will always be my favorite!!!!!

Over-rated across just about all categories of talent.

He is so funny and outrageous that it is easy to over-look his acting talent. And he does have a great amout of (dramatic) acting talent. I only hope that he gets the opportunity to show his dramatic side as much as we have seen his comic side. He is drop dead hilarious, insightful, talented and cute to boot.
