One of the dime a dozen 90's sort of so- called alternative grunge groups who probably used to practice making pretentious faces in the mirror, with bombastic songs about angst and gloom and shit. I hated them. Too bad The MC5 weren't around to rush the stage and sink their teeth into them and shake them the way a terrier shakes a rat.

Throwing Copper was a great album. But it's that garbage that followed....

They started out strong with the first couple of albums. Throwing Copper is very good but even some song on the album now sound dated and undoubetdly responsible for the post grunge pablum pukers I hear on Commercial FM today. The band really declined in quality after Throwing Copper and has tried too hard to write intelligent, spiritual lyrics that in most cases fail miserably. They are overly pretentious and to clear up any misconceptions, they are into Eastern mysticism as oppose to Christianity. Ohhh, how trendy!!!

Best listened to LOUD. Ed Kowalcyk's(sp) voice is powerful yet often soothing and subtle. They've hit some highs and some lows but their total body of work is quite good.

"Throwing Copper" was a good album, but what kinda crap are they trying to convey now?

I am an atheist, but I love Christian-themed rock music, provided that it's good (hint: not Creed). Edward Kowalczyk is one of the few truly talented vocalists to still be gracing the VH1 airwaves, and cromulance, I don't understand how you can compare him to the abominable Scott Stapp. "I don't need no one/to tell me about heaven/I look at my daughter/and I believe." Those right there are the best lyrics a Christian band has ever come up with. they have some songs, however, that are rather bland. On a bad day I'd give them a 3, but this is not a bad day. Kudos and thanks to the gents in Live.

They helped pave the way for bland, generic grunge-pop bands like Creed, Nickelback, Default, and Puddle of Mudd

They have some excellent songs that are worth checking out such as Dolphin's cry and Turn My head and Run to the water. But the rest of their stuff that I have heard is terrible not one of their albums is worth buying although if you are a fan of Pearl Jam like I am, then you will probably like their guitar parts although their vocals are sometimes very very 'poor'.

These guy have alot of talent. Its nice, their music is intelligent, not brainless flutter like Britney or N-sinc, or nonsense like Blink. But, Their music is an aquired taste...kinda like beer.

These guys are good, very good at what they do. They can make he sweetest of love songs or the weirdest of strange songs. Constantly pumping out radio friendly clean and hard music that is musically and vocally complex I am glad this group has stuck around since the fall of alternative music. Very heartfelt and artistic band. Very talented.

There first two albums rocked, but there latest was only ok. They are great in concert and actually write their own music! What a concept!

These guys have produced a lot of good alternative music. They've got a lot of great songs, but some of their stuff just doesn't cut it. I find that some of the songs have a very similar sound to them and that makes you lose interest in them.

I think Live is allright, they are not the songwriters like David Gray, DMB and Radiohead are anymore. The seem to have run out of fuel in the last few years.

They blow so hard. I cannot stand this band. Not telling anybody not to listen to them or trying to get on anyone's case that likes the band. You can take them or leave them - do whatever you want to do. But like Beavis says 'Why do they call it taking a dump? You're not taking it anywhere, are you? They should call it leaving a dump!' I feel the same way about Live and suggest you leave them.

The worst music show I ever saw was Live at the Academy in NYC in 1992. It reminded me of the bad poetry I wrote when I was a Jim Morrison fan at age 14. Even at 14, I had the good sense to throw that stuff out the next morning. The singer was the all into these dramatic poses and wound up, with way too much preparation, stage diving into the crowd. Some of their radio hits in later years sounded like they got better, but I still think of these guys as complete losers.

Well, I'm torn. I used to like their lyrical content, but lately it's gone downhill. Still, songs like "Dolphin's Cry" maintain that faint glimmer of hope.

Live had the great unheard of performance at Woodstock. They gave an absolutely great set, but everybody would rather talk about the garbage that went on.

The best part about this band is they seem to be regular guys. I worked tech on a show they played in Maine with Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The Bosstones came off really snooty and uninterested in their fans. Live was totally unpretentious and concerned only with playing a great rock and roll show, which they did.

Live is incredible. I have followed them since 1991 when they released "Mental Jewelry." Since then I have seen them in concert 4 times and I can't wait for their new album "The Distance to Here."

Their music is passionate and sensual. They seem to give each song special care in production, unlike most bands who have maybe three good cuts on a CD and the rest they just walked through to get the money. I love their spirit, and the lead singer's voice is totally erotic.
