How much you like this station depends on how many re-runs of "Dog The Bounty Hunter" or "48 Hours" you're willing to sit through. I watch the station on occasion...I thought "Intervention" was worthwhile, but I have more than enough self-indulgent drunks and junkies in my own personal life without having to watch them on TV...but it makes me long for the days of pre-cable TV. Like most cable stations, it has far more commercials than free TV ever thought of having, it has as much censorship as free TV ever had...if not more, and if its "reality-TV" shows are a bit more elevated than the likes of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" or "Tough Love"...well, they're still reality-TV shows.

I REALLY HAVE A PROBLEM BELIEVING THAT YOU'RE STILL SHOWING COLD CASE, AWERICAN JUSTICE, FIRST 48 AND OTHERS THAT ARE UP TO TEN YEARS OLD.DON'T YOU THINK IT'S TIME TO PUT THEM TO REST, YOU'VE DAMN SURE MADE YOUR MONEY BACK OFF COMMERCIALS. YOUR VIEWERS DESERVE MORE THAN WHAT YOU'RE GIVING US.

A&E; is one of my favorite. They play some good syndicated shows and don't go nuts with the comercials.

I know its been said before, but what happened here? Another channel ruined by reality/unscripted garbage. Oh there are reruns of past glory programs like Biography and Investigative Reports but the rest is illiterate unintelligent panderings under the guise of entertainment all to attract the almighty younger demographic. Come on à la carte.

I have no idea how this channel is still around, 1st it was the old people network with murder she wrote, and biographies of dead people, at least dead to me, now its all about completely off the wall reality shows, just 1 question how are all the new shows on this channel art?

love the show Mindfreak with Criss Angel. It is a great escape from the mostly depressing "criminal" shows. While i do enjoy city confidential it is always good to escape to something that is just pure entertaining.

When they were one of the few "cable" channels a few years back they had consistently great programming. BUt as the competition increased it seems like there aren't enough of the good shows to go around and their overall quality has suffered.

I do not know how OK the series Dog Bounty hunters. I my opinion, this is wastes money,if I see that self centered guy, with his long hear and his howl presentation, I like to take a big shower, because i feel dirty!!! and the the women with her big, UN ecstatic milk items, this is somethings for idiot's not for international TV. please, your program is right on track, dump this idiots, re pace them with something els. I am not a criminal, and have in my 69 years had never to do with the law, but if I see that guy is praying to the LORD in the way he does, please get them of the screen!!!!!

Man I hope I don't run into the Mom in the world. She has a disease that could be spread airborne. She is ugly and miserable and I don't want to catch either.

I just watched the movie The Shining on A&E; and had it ruined. For every five minutes of movie it was followed by five minutes of commercials.

I don't understand why people have to be so insulting. The Gotti children are ACTING their spoiled rotten parts. I believe that they are spoiled to an extent, but most of their antics are acted as well. I don't run to my tv set every time they come on, but the few times I have stopped to watch it, I laugh.

Get rid of the Gottis..They are the most worthless group of people I've ever seen..Remember folks..who her father was! I can't believe that people want to watch a bunch of rude, spoiled, not proper in any way that I noticed the 2 times I ran across it while channel surfing ..wow..what has the world come to?

For me, City Confidential is the rare program which never insults your intelligence; the first ten minutes of each show really captures the city/town that is focused upon...this channel is hands down one of the better options on cable or otherwise.

as retarded as it will sound, i do like growing up Ghotti. I dont know why but i like it, i also really like Airline, and city confidential, but on city confidential, they need to do some more cities, i can't count how many times i have seen some of them, and they need to have that paul winfeild guy narrating again, that new guy just doesnt do it right!!!!

A channel that offers a variety of programs from syndicated shows like Murder She Wrote and Third Watch to original shows like Biography, American Justice, Airline, specials like Live by Request and shows from the BBC such as Poirot and MI-5 to name a couple. The channel offers a little bit of everything and usually has quality programming. I think it would improve if it stayed away from the syndicated shows like(Murder She Wrote and Third Watch) and moved more toward original progamming, specials and shows from the BBC.

I wouldn't mind them so much if they'd remove the A. Long, long time since they had ANY pretense of airing arts.

Biography has gone downhill (what's so great about P. Diddy that an episode is devoted to him?), Law & Order is sorely missed, and I'm tired of looking at Bill Kurtis. On the upside there's MI-5 and other British programs, and I enjoy the Live by Request concerts. If A&E; could put MI-5 in a 90 minute timeslot so the episodes can be seen without all the cuts for US commercials, that would warrant an bump up to 4 stars.

Aside from Murder She Wrote and Poriot, they don't show anything that I enjoy. Why dump Law & Order, Quincy, and Columbo? Who knows?

A&E airs some interesting documentaries and movies, but I wish they'd go back to airing some TV shows, like NewsRadio reruns. Bring those back! At least The View is gone. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

What used to be one of my favorite channels has devolved into cheap and repetitive programming. In fact, it's best to rename it the Bill Kurtis Network. That shameless non-journalist seems to be on that channel 24-7. I'm tired of violence and programming that promotes it (even when it claims to be "intelligent criticism of _____" (fill in the blank with whatever they say this week)). Kurtis has almost singlehandedly ruined a decent channel. He's just a hackneyed cliche of a "reporter", all mannerisms and lame-DJ voice. He panders to violence and illness which perpetuates the crime rate in this country, just as the majority of "journalists" do theses days. When did A&E decide to pander to the lowest common denominator? Remember when A&E showed reruns of Slap Maxwell? I would watch that over and over before suffering thru another moment of Bill Kurtis.

A&E is a pretty good channel, but I would say it's mostly only for when you're bored and have nothing to watch. I find their Biography program to be of interest and my mother enjoys Mystery. Unless you're a big fan of Poirot of like to know about some famous person's depressing downfall, I wouldn't say it's really worth the time.
