Will this be a great movie to watch on almost any occasion? "As you wish" is about all the film can respond to. It's great. IT has pirates, giants, kidnapping and conspiracies. "You killed my father, now prepare to die." Another great quote...also...it has true love. True love always makes for a happy movie now doesn't it?

I guess I didn't realize this was a sci-fi movie but ok. This is one of my all time favorite movies even though parts of it are a bit corny.

Inconceivable! A great, funny film from the 80's that tells the tale of The Dread Pirate Roberts, and Princess Buttercup.

it's cheesy as all get out but still one of my favs.. Billy Crystal is a hoot in it and it's one way Andre the Giant is immortalized.

This is a good movie. It's nice to pretend that there are men like him out there who would do anything for love! LOL

A brilliant mix of fairy tale, swashbuckler and comedy. It kind of sticks out like a sore thumb on a SciFi/Fantasy list though.

One of the best family films of all-time. Probably not for the really small kids though. A bit too much dark humor for them. Great cast. Very inventive writing and well paced direction.

I have loved this movie since I was a kid.  It just may be te most quotable fantasy movie ever.  It's a wonderful comedy that never fails to cheer me up.

This is a cult classic. It's a love story for those who don't like love stories. The fantasy in this movie is great. There are so many quotable lines, it's like seeing it wherever you go.

How can you not love this movie? I didn't want to give it 5 stars because it's not a perfect film, but I thought about it and realized I had fun every time I saw this film, which is about 10 times. And isn't that what matters? Enjoying the movie even if it's not perfect? "The Princess Bride" isn't far off from being perfect, anyway. Great movie.

Ha! I am laughing just thinking about the movie. I like it because I can watch it with my kids and we all laugh (unlike a lot of other crappy kids movies I can't stand to watch). It's not dirty in any way, and there is some fighting, but it isn't bloody, and the good guys win in the end!

Pretty good movie, a great performance by the underrated character actor Wallace Shawn in particular.Yet, it's also one of those films that is a sleeper that flies under the radar at first, but then everyone starts to talk about it too much and then they consequently overrate it. That being said, it's worth seeing.

Despite any and all of its faults, I enjoy this movie. When I first saw it on TV, I thought I was going to be totally put off by it (my kids wanted to watch it), but I got hooked on it pretty quickly. I still try to catch it whenever it is shown on TV. It's such a spoof it's enjoyable.

This movie was an amazing mid-evil comedy. I thought that some parts could have been better, but the main plot was amazing. I believe that any one would enjoy this movie if you try to go with the flow of the movie.

Admit it- like me, you thought of the verbally-challenged officiant who said "what is marriage" in that memorable voice on your own wedding day. I sucessfully killed my smile. . .

I love the Princess Bride and everything about it. The casting was brilliant and I can't imagine anybody playing the parts better than the original cast. Cary Elwes was great as the somewhat dry, intelligent Wesley/Dread Pirate Roberts. Robin Wright was wonderful as the beautiful if not naive Buttercup and all of the supporting actors were amazing. Wallace Shawn was hilarious as Vizzini and he was so mean you just love to hate him. The on set filming gave the movie a sort of charm that can never be captured in a studio. All in all, great film with something for everyone.

This movie doesn't have any famous actors aside from Billy Crystal and Fred Savage (whose parts are very small) but it's great. It's a wonderful story, and while it may seem cheesy (1987 special effects really aren't that good) to today's viewers, it's still a good story. I grew up with this movie and loved it, and many people I know still love this movie.

After finally sitting down to watch this I could picture ClassicTVFan pacing back and forth in his mom's basement while shouting the word inconceivable. Here's a quick impression for you. You mean there are people on the surface that don't like Star Trek? Well, that's just so wrong it's... INCONCEIVABLE!!

A good idea that misses by quite a bit due to the wooden performances of the principals. When Andre the Giant is one of the best actors in the movie, you know there's a problem.
