It is the oldest profession... kind of sad because it strips people of their dignity and pride. If a person wants to get it on why not find a freaky lover, or try it with your girl or guy? This profession preys on the weak and distressed.

For people doing this at the street level of the sex trade, it isn't an occupation so much as a desperation survival technique.

I really don't have a problem with it. In some cases, I think it's more honest than dating. In the dating arena, a lot of guys are more intrested in getting laid, than pursuing "a meaningful relationship". Prostitution just cuts to the chase. As for safety, you should assume everyone is hiv positive and protect yourself. Actually, most sex workers take more precautions than the average person out looking for sex. As for morals, no better or worse than some people I know.

There have been male and female prostitutes since the beginning of time for lonely sex starved people. Well, Someone has to provide the entertainment is what I say!

There is just too much corruption in the world of prostitution to consider it a good occupation. Drugs, disease, violence, rape, etc. Of course, there are probably the good prostitutes that actually live a good life, but I am pretty sure they are not the majority.

I believe that you should always do what inspires you! Prostitution isn't for everyone, but for those passionate about sex and filled with a sincere love for self and others, it's one of the best careers out there. ANYONE who does something for money that they wouldn't happily do for free is a w#ore... (think about that when you get up to go to work). Part of the reason the world is so messed-up is that so many of us are willing to sell our inner peacefor money (each of us knows what right is for us). I feel truely sorry for anyone who is so shameful about their own sexuality as to consider it dirty or disgusting. ** Women and Men who are in the sex trade against their will, addicted to drugs, suffering abuse and oppression are a different matter. Slavery is not an Occupation! **

I feel really bad for women who are in such a desperate situation that they have to sell their bodies for money. Obviously these women didn't think when they were little girls, "Hmm, I think I'll be a whore when I grow up." But really, who is worse? The prostitutes or the disgusting, violent pimps and johns who have to pay to get laid?

Is this really a job? Is there any real work involved? Well, I guess if you get a lot of customers in one day.... I think that this is a disgraceful way to make a living. Do these people even get hazard pay for the diseases that they get?

The only people that would give these gutter-crawlers good rating is only if they actually work with them or have slept with one. It's not only horrible to have sex with someone you don't know, it's also losing your dignity.

It's dangerous, it's degrading and seems outmoded for today's society. Women shouldn't have to do this. Make it illegal worldwide.

This job (if you can even call this a real "job") is dirty, degrading and disgusting. It's like trading STD's with a fixed rate. It is really to sickening that a prostitute can earn more money than somebody who worked their butts off for years going to college to make an honest living. And I can't believe that the women involved in prostitution could have any self-respect at all. It's just really filthy and I wish people had more respect for themselves than to sell their bodies or use a prostitute.

Well, I have to tell you, being a man and talking to men, most men who ARE married think they are already paying for it. What is the first thing a woman with holds when in a fight with her man? SEX! I think most everybody has a big hangup about sex. It's dirty, demeaning, and it's one of those things that your not suppose to talk about. YEAH RIGHT! We don't let our children watch "R" rated programs that are sexually explicited, but they can watch "Die Hard" Lethal Weapon, Friday the 13th., Freddy. Does anyone else see a problem here? Here is a strange fact, most creatures in the animal world are BI and most have what you might call a open relationship, yet, these same creatures get along far better with each other than we humans do. So much for superior intellagance. We are also the only creature on the planet that kills for fun, and kills more than we can eat. Unless your a crack whore, I really don't see where it is demeaning, you pick and chose your own clients. You can hardly do th... Read more

Yeahhhhh baby! The world's oldest profession may appeal to some in concept ($$$$$ and sex!), but in the real world being a prostitute is dangerous and degrading. Who knows which diseases may be lurking on our street corners?

Experience, I have none. But htis career cannot be for everyone. I am sure its glamor, appeal and amount of enjoyment largely depends on the types of clients, wages and if you enjoy being used for meaningless sex. Personally, I would think the job would be rather degrading most of the time. I am sure alot in the proffesion love their job.

I know these people can't make any money in the real world of real jobs but putting yourself on the line for STDs like gonnorreah and HIV/AIDS is just crazy. It would be horrible if you got pregnant and couldn't get child support because you don't know the father.

prostitution is such a weird subject. i mean, humans in general have animalian libidos that badger our common sense and concentration until until we break down and let it take over. anyone who doesn't have constant sex or don't wanna risk sleeping with strangers is ridiculed as a dorks/prudes. people who have lots of sex are heralded. so people who aren't slick enough to get action all the time wanna catch up by paying for it. prostitutes are simply taking part in our capitalist society and cashing in on this paradox. people say it's only healthy to have sex all the time. yet people who do it for a living are deemed evil and immoral, up for being arrested. it doesn't seem like the most glamorous or rewarding of careers. but why are they the bad guys?
