Overall Rating:3.57 based on 60 ratings
Broadcasted on CBS from 1983-1986, the object of the game show, was to collect spins, by answering trivia questions, and then use the spins to collect prizes and money, however if you landed on the infamous "Whammy", the cash would be subtracted from the total. (Add picture)

I give it a three just because I like game shows anyway, but there have been better ones.

Not exactly rocket science...in fact, it was a horrible concept, but people were mesmerized by the "whammies". At least it can be said that it was better than most of the primetime network TV shows today (CSI, JAG, MCIS, SUV, etc). No Whammies!

"Come on big money!"
Yes, this was a fun game show to watch. I still catch it once in awhile on the gameshow network.

This was a great show and a lot of fun to watch. The Whammys brought a lot of entertainment value to the table. If you ever get to see the documentary on the game show network about the guy who figured out the show it is worth watching and very interesting. The new version Whammy is also fun to watch.

This classic from the 80s has it all--bright and upbeat sets, a kickin' theme song, retro LED displays, a respectable live audience, the classic announcer, and a great host. Plus, the concept and execution was extremely creative and well done. This daytime show was a classic. It's time to bring back the daytime gameshow in full force!

This show was sort of a love/hate thing with me. I hated to see how greedy people could get, and I loved to see them get hit with the whammy. Their love of money was too much to take. Today's version called Whammy doesn't have the spark that this show had.

Funy and interesting game show seems dated now, but still brings back a nostalgic feeling.

Thanks to Game Show Network, I'm finally able to watch this great game show of mine. I first saw reruns of the show on USA when I was young. Those whammies were really something when I first saw them. Good to see the exiting extravaganza known as Press Your Luck after a long wait.

Those "whammies" fascinated me as a kid, especially the music parodies!!!! It ranks as one of my favorite childhood shows (I was nine at the beginning, and twelve at the end).
