Plotlines are generally good, and the characters are believable--but she typically has VERY little payoff in terms of heat/good bedroom scenes. I stopped reading her.

Holly- I've been reading Jude Deveraux books for 15 years. Her early books were comparable to diving into a pool of hot fudge and waiting for a Montgomery man to lick it off. However, I went through a busy time in my life and didn't have time for reading. But, when I was at the store the other day I picked up the book Holly, anxious to run home and get started. Within the first half of the book I was shocked. I began to wonder if she allowed some unknown author that she felt sorry for to write using her name. One of the greatest things about her stories is she makes you anxious for the relationship of her characters to build. In this book she had them screwing within 10 minutes of meeting each other. Then the rest of the book was based around Holly and Nick screwing, and a little mystery and murder thrown in. Ugh, I was so disappointed in this book. :O( Please tell me that she hasn't resorted to this smut style of romance. What happened to her wit and charm, and making the ... Read more

Jude Deveraux, although i do not have everyone of her books, has the most wonderfull books ever. It take a lot for me to read, and i must say that never before in my life have i I ever read any book with in one day. Jude Deveraux takes up all of my free time, and I can not say that I hate it at all. Velvet Series I must say are the best. However, I would like to know every one of Judes books, so thoes of you whom have ever one of her books, would you please e-mail me and give me the list? [email protected].

I have read every Jude Deveraux book out there, from Casa Grande to Forever. Ms. Deveraux has a very open and honest writing style; and she has a real gift of being able to draw you into the heart and thoughts of a chosen character. Her older novels are far superior to recent ones however; as they seem to have more heart in them. Her more recent ones seem to reflect a more mature outlook on life, but it seems perhaps there is now a hardness to her writing that wasn't always there. Still she is an author that should not be missed. Her time travel romance "A Knight in Shining Armor", is one of my personal favorites; and shows Jude's true writing capabilities. I do not think anyone else could have written this story and made it the believeable, heartwracking bestseller that it is. A Knight in Shining Armor, with its acurate view of both modern and medieval life, is so compelling that many colleges have now added it to their required reading list. Very few writers have made an impact on ro... Read more

I have read and own every book Jude Deveraux has ever written. She is much more than just a romance writer. I have never read a bad book by her yet. Most of her books I have read 2-3 times and have a hard time putting them down. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to read a good book. I never get tired of her stories and am always excited when a new one comes out.

I love all of Jude's books that I have read. Two of my favorites are A Knight in Shining Armour and the Princess. She can make a beautiful, steamy romance out of nothing and always leaves you wanting more- to find out what happens next. She's really great.

I have read just about every one of her books and I love them all! She is my favorite author. Her stories are great. And she always leaves you wanting more (in my opinion, the best trait an author can have).

The first Jude Deveraux book I ever read was Sweetbriar. It was also the first romance I had ever read. I immediately fell in love with the leading man, Devon, and continued to read Deveraux's books. My favorite is still Sweetbriar just because of the great memories I have of reading it under the covers with the sun shining in my window, but I really loved Knight in Shining Armor, as well. It was a beautiful book that I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to read a wonderful love story with a plot that actually makes you think.

I adore her books, one of my favorite is Knight in Shining Armour. I believe she started out with the Black Lyon and this is excellent. If you want to read a book with exciting characters, strong women, and low vulgarity, this is a good author. Her scenes are hot without being blatant or vulgar.

She's terrific, particularly with historical romance.
