Once your 30 day return period is up, you are no longer a customer, just a burden. I'm getting ready to have my ring repaired for the 4th time in 2 months, and since they know I can't return it, they are being really nasty and unhelpful about it. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone!

I ordered a ring off Samuels' internet site - and as I needed it urgently, I paid for next day delivery. No problems there. Samuels website states that for next day delivery, someone must be in to sign for the parcel. So I stayed in - all day. Shortly after lunch, I happened to walk past my front door and noticed a card lying there - from the courier company, telling me to phone a specific number to arrange delivery of my item. I called them - and to cut a VERY long story short - it was going to cost me £20 to get the item re-delivered at a time to suit me - and that would not be the same day. After a lot of arguing, I got it redelivered the same day but had to pay the £20. You could argue this is not Samuels fault - well I believe they have a part to play in this. They selected the courier, and NOWHERE on Samuels' website does it state that if you fail to take delivery of your item, for whatever reason (in my case, I do not believe the driver tried very hard - I can alw... For my daughter’s Sweet 16 I bought her a gorgeous heart pendant from Samuels. We picked it out together and were helped by the sweetest lady. Great product selection and excellent customer service. She still wears it everyday and is constantly getting compliments on it.

CAUTION! DO NOT BUY HERE! They are a bunch of liars that give false promises so that you will buy their low quality diamonds. They will find ways and reasons not to refund your purchase. On top of that they got the worse customer service of any diamond stores that I've been to. I bought an engagement ring at Samuel Jewelers on Blossom Hill Road, San Jose, CA. I was helped by this Indian lady who was very pushy and rude. She gave me a discount on a ring that wasn't suppose to be discounted and said that she is the owner that's why she can do that and told me this deal is just between her and me. I asked her what is the return policy for this ring and she told me that you have 30 days to return it for a refund or 6 months for an exchange. So I bought the ring with their 5 year no interest payment plan. When I came to pick up the ring after having it re-sized, she took my receipt and stamped a final sale on it and now I can't return it for a refund because my girlfriend didn't like the... Read more

Wonderful experience at Samuels! My fiance and I had been talking about getting engaged for a while and I was thrilled when we walked into Samuels one day and he said, "Do you want to marry me?" He told me that he had been looking at rings for almost a month, but had no idea what I would like. Of course I was over the moon about looking at rings, but was also nervous about making the right choice. The sales woman was so sweet and seemed almost as excited as I was about me getting engaged. She helped me to learn a little bit about diamonds and what my options were. There were so many different settings to choose from and I was totally overwhelmed. In the end I didn't end up picking out anything that day and really appreciated that I did not feel pressured in any way to make a purchase. After talking to my sisters and a few friends I went back the following week with my fiance and bought the perfect ring. Love the way it sparkles! I would definitely recommend Samuels.

" Too bad I can't choose "0" stars!!! This company is nothing more than a complete and total sham - bunch of ridiculous liars from the ground level through upper management. At every turn, through a 2 month process of just trying to get my new $2,200.00 anniversary band soldered to my wedding set - there was lie after lie - with end result being that of having to involve the sheriff's dept to force the store to release MY wedding set, and having to file a civil lawsuit to have my wedding set repaired from the damage caused by Samuel's while it was in their possession. DO NOT PURCHASE or ENTRUST YOUR JEWELRY to this company!!!!!!!

After reading the extremely long narrative obviously by someone at Samuels and how the same number of disagrees on some of these it stands out they are padding their results. The company has been in bankruptcy several times going back to its days as Barry's in California. The president has lead a couple of jewelery companies into bankruptcy (Silvermans is another one). They are now owned by a Indian company not that in itself is a bad thing but they are using the stores as a way to funnel their own products in the US since other jewelers would apparantly not use their products. Please do yourself a favor and shop at one of the many other chains. Some of the others that are good are Kay's/Jarrod, Helzberg (owned by Warren Buffet). The bottom line to the consumer is look at the management if it has problems (lots of them) then so will you. Treat their stores like a fire.....get low to the ground and find the nearest exit.

I think customer service is a difficult business especially with real people as clients. People make mistakes and lose thier jewelry, dont get thier stuff insured, lose thier jobs, forget to pay thier bills, forget to finish thier job properly...etc etc. ON BOTH parts of the fence, the customer service rep and the customer, we all need to take a little accountabilty for our actions. NOT one retail location or store is perfect by ANY means, because there are ACTUAL people not robots conducting the transactions. People are tired, upset, just had thier boss or husband berate them, thier dog jsut died, thier kids decided to go to harvard not community college, thier job sucks, they just lost thier job, they are working at a job just to pay bills not because they have a passion for it. The last one is a big one, do you know how hard it is to work in retail?? STanding almost 9 hours a day, working weekends, nights, holidays, having crazy customers come at you with thier issues and problem... Read more

not at all happy, I bought an engagement ring for my fiancee, there was one in the case at the time and she was somewhat happy with it, they 2 more rings like it for her to look at. When they finally came in, we went to look at them, by that time she was attatched to that ring because it was the ring i proposed to her with so we stayed with the original ring when the others came in. 2 months went by and we decided to have it sized, the ring we got back was NOT the same ring, the stones were of poorer quality compared to the original. Basically they told us we were wrong and there was nothing they could do and then proceeded to tell us that she was never happy with the ring in the first place. Poor customer relations. Will never go there again

I am still on the fence. My husband passed aways five years ago and I recently had our wedding rings made into a pendant and a ring. I had the pendant about 2 weeks and the chain broke. I had the ring less than 3 weeks and noticed one of the diamonds was gone! This has so much sentimental value that cannot be replaced. I had them check the rest of the ring and they found 3 more diamonds that were loose. My ring is currently back with them and they said they will fix it... but I cannot replace a diamond that was from my original wedding set. The whole point was to use my diamonds. Now at least one is gone. I hope they are able to fix the rest of it so I do not have to worry about losing more.

I wish someone had told me how horrible this place is, I would have never gotten my ring from here. I told my husband I had a certain ring picked out at Helzberg's; however, they wouldn't give him any credit. I was curious about Samuel's jewelers, so we went in to look. They told him they would approve him no matter what, & my husband told me to pick out whatever I want. I picked out a 3-stone emerald cut w/matching band, overall it was valued at about $7k. We knew we could afford the payment so we got the rings and they said they would deliver them to us in a few weeks. Almost immediately after this purchase, we found out my husband had been being overpaid, so we would not afford these rings after all. This was about a week or so after the purchase. So I called the company, explained, and they said they would get back with me about the return. They wouldn't give me a direct answer and wouldn't return my call until the 30 days had passed, in which rings "cannot be returned." They made ... Read more

Samuels Jewelers is the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!! I brought my setting to for them to mount a new diamond I purchased in the Cayman Islands as a loose stone. They promised it on a certain date and now a month later and multiple broken promises I still don't have my ring. All they needed to do was put a new prong on my ring and put in my new diamond. The customer ring was designed, completed in a shorter time (by a different jeweler in a different state). At this point I don't want to make them angry because who knows what they'll do. I wish I had gone to someone else...like Jareds.

Samuels Jewlers has the worst customer service of any retail establishment I have ever experienced!!!! I took a ring that was not purchased at their store in to have it cleaned one day while shopping at the mall and during the cleaning they popped a diamond out of it. They took the ring and said I could come back the next day to pick it up they would have the ring fixed and looking like new. It's been several weeks and still no ring. I've called multiple times requesting an update on when I will get my ring back. Always the person promises they will check with their jewler and call me right back never a phone call back. The public be ware these folks may sell nice jewlery but do not take your rings in to have them cleaned or anything else here as you may not ever see it again. I will update when IF I get my $6000.00 wedding set back. Thank you & good luck if you choose to use these people.

I have been to Samuels 3 times in the last 4 days trying to get a ring exchanged and every time I went in to a store (I went to 2 different stores), I heard a different story about what I could do with the ring. On top of that, they have a TERRIBLE return policy. When I found out that I could get the ring I wanted for $150 cheaper at a different store, I decided to return the ring I bought, and they wouldn't do it because I was a few days outside the return policy. However, I shouldn't have been outside the return period, because I didn't get the ring right when I bought it - it had to be special ordered. Even so, they started the return countdown on the day I bought it, not the day I got it. Also, at both of the stores (Independence, MO and Olathe, KS) I was treated terribly and they made me feel like I was an inch tall - telling me how they were sticking their necks out for me by even attempting to help me out because the new return policy isn't as long as it was when I bought it, a... I just got a ring at Samuels for Christmas, it is very high quality. The clarity of the diamonds is unbelievable....great!! I would not shop anywhere else. I looked several jewelers before reaching my decision to buy from Samuels.

I took in a ring to samuels to have it repaired, after about two months, I went back to retrieve my ring,to my chagrin the manager was replaced and no record of my ring ever showed it was recieved. The new manager found a tracking number and it led to a dead end. The manager then came back and promised a replacement and after 2 mos of stalling, they decided that I needed a claim ticket. I am so peeved and mad at myself for even going to samuels, I will never shop there again. They are despicable!

I have purchased or received 3 different pieces from Samuels. I have been let down totally with the last two experiences. I beg any one who reads this to not and I mean NOT shop there!! They treat people terribly, this is from the direct store chain to the corporate office. I am not really sure there is a corp. office, I think it is just an answering machine where the messages are never retrieved! BE WARE OF THE RETURN POLICY!! If you oay with cash, you must wait 21 days to get your money back!!! YES I SAID WITH CASH YOU WILL BE WAITING MORE THAN 2 FULL WEEKS TO GET IT BACK....THEY TAKE THE JEWELERY TO RESELL IT AND THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY UNTIL THEY DECIDE TO GIVE IT BACK. REDICULOUS!!!!! FIND A BETTER JEWELERY STORE, BELIEVE ME ANY PLACE IS BETTER!!!

I bought an engagement ring and a wedding band for my fiance at Samuels. The staff was extremely helpful, the prices could not be beat (and we sure shopped a lot of stores). I was impressed with the it's my pleasure service and the knowledgable personnel. I highly recommend Samuels. I purchased the warranty on both items. I do hope that if the need ever arises that I will get better warranty service than reported by others who have rated samuels poorly.

My dad recently bought a diamond tennis braclet for my mother on their 25th wedding anniversary from Samuels for 400.00 so it should have been a quality piece. My mom wore it one day and it fell off and she lost it. Of course Samuels does nothing about this. Clearly their products are crap and not worth a penny of your money.

They have the worst customer service ever. They will delibertely not sign off on an inspection to void your warranty. I asked them if they needed to sign, and they said, oh no, we keep records of inspections. Then when i needed a stone replaced that has fallen out three times in less than 2 yrs they said my warranty was void because i didn't get my paperwork signed. I paid for my stone to be replaced then, and when it fell out again after only 2 months, they are giving me the run around. My ring has been in their possesion now for almost a month and is still not fixed. I called the corporate office after a store employee hung up on me, and they don't care. They wouldn't call me back either, just like the store personel. And they don't care that a store manager refuses to call me back, and hangs up on me. I have never cursed at them or even gotten loud. I don't know what to do, but once i get my ring back, if i ever do, (it is my wedding ring, and 3/4 carat diamond engagement r... Read more
