I've been with Insight in Bowling Green KY for over ten years. They used to have great service, but that changed in the last year or two. Now, if you are waiting for a service call, make sure to answer your *&%&^# phone or they will skip you. They leave a nice message: You are told to reschedule! Great, now I can sit at home for another day waiting on a tech. BTW, when he showed up to fix the Internet connection, he broke the cable TV. Guess what? Sit at home and wait another day!!! To be fair, when it works, it works well. When it doesn't, you get service straight from hell.

Where do I begin. Customer service is average at best. There was no installation fee which was nice and I pay $45 a month. When I moved I was told there would be no fee. So I did what I was told to do and two weeks after I moved a guy showed up at my door at 7 pm and said he was going to turn off my internet if I didn't pay I bill. I explained that I moved my bill is paid in full and to my understanding everything is good with my move paper work. We went to a friends house and when I came home my internet was cut. I could not get on the internet or use my home phone. So I couldn't call them to figure out what happened. After finally finding a neighbor nice enough to let me use there cell phone to make this 45 min call. It was insight who messed up on my moving paper work but I still had to pay the $20 moving fee, $25 new installation fee, a $20 weekend installation fee because I am a college student and needed the internet turned on immediately. And ever since I moved the internet freq... Read more

Insight gets on my fucking nerves. 5 dollars to rent a move? sometimes more! I have tivo and i can rent a movie for 1.99-3.99 all brand new movies. The cable is always going out. (i don't pay for cable, we get it free through the apt) the DVR sucks. Tivo owns in that dept. The internet is garbage and i pay 40 fucking dollars a month for 20.0 apparently. Which i do the internet test and it only says 7-8mb. When I call in to complain they're usually good at fixing the problem but they annoy the hell out of me when they ask me to buy something else through them. "Thanks for calling in the problem, but we show you as listed to be eligible for a phone service" They've been setting me up at the start of the conversation here lately asking "thanks for verifying your phone number we show that you do not have a secondary phone number, would you like to set that up?" WHY THE FUCK WOULD I WANT YOUR SHITTY LANDLINE WHEN I HAVE A PERFECTLY GOOD CELL PHONE THAT I CAN.... OH MY GOD, I CAN TAKE IT PLA... Read more

I pay for 7Mbs at least that what they call it on the bill but when you have problems they say really 5Mbs is what the expect....the have terrible latency issues and the techs come out and do some tests and say o its fine here is a new modemn. clearly that did not solve the issues. I have done some tests at pingtest.net that showed packetloss...even computer->modemn->internet setup has speeds of 2mbs and the support is terrible. Very unprofessional as well. The record has errors first off and it takes for ever to get through on top of that. The you get to talk to some employ who thinks the Internet is a building somewhere with infinite knowledge. Then you get upgraded to someone who thinks each country has there own Internet buildings (one per country) and they are connected via super satellites. After a few more hops up the chain of retards you get someone who knows what latency is but doesnt have the power in the system to check it themselves so they send out people who leave ... Read more

In my opinion a this is a company that used to offer great service and good pricing, but is steadily moving downhill. The channel lineup is no longer competitive with dish or direct for the $, and now that att is bundling direct tv in the NKY area you would think insight might put up a little competition, but nope... My bill just spiked by over 25%, when I called to inquire the first time I was advised it was an error and would be fixed. The next month, the same thing, this time when I called I was advised that my initial promotional package had ended (I've had insight over 6 years) and this was my regular rate. I advised the rep that the 6 year promotion was interesting as I'd never heard of it, I also advised they could reduce my rate or I would be moving along to another company. The representative then got a bit offended that I would consider competition and told me I should read the fine print on the sattelite company contracts, and then went to talk to a supervisor, he then c... Too damn bad you have to give at least 1 star, otherwise I would have given a negative 5 stars. In general, Insight has become the bane of my existence. Their services blow and the price is out of hand. My internet connection constantly drops, my cable is pixelated and blurry (when it actually works) and my new insight phone number apparently belonged to a deadbeat drug dealer who never paid any of his creditors. I tried to have insight change that number due to the plethora of harassing phone calls, but they don't seem to care and want to charge me to do so, all while tying to sell me upgrades for products that do not work. I'm convinced that Insight sucks so bad because they have a monopoly on the cable/internet media in Louisville and surrounding areas. They don't have to be top notch because really, who else are we going to use? Once ATT gets settled in the Louisville area, you better believe I will be switching service providers, even if they are prices slightly higher. I sit here... Read more

5 Stars for service, 1 Star for support = 3 stars The good - The fastest Internet you can get in the Kentucky and Ohio area. Period The bad - The management sucks. The technical support sucks. I have no idea how a company could be so disorganized yet put out a good product. The ugly - The constant "Would you like to upgrade" crap you have to deal with, even when the service isn't working! Worse than that, they send out salespeople to your home to get you to sign for more services. I had to put up a "NO" sign and point to it when they show up at my door.

I wouldn't even give insight a half of a star! Insight sucks so bad! Their hired contractors are assholes that drilled two big holes in my walls one about the size of my fist because they were too stupid to make a simple drill hole to fish the cable wiring through the wall! Insight hired contractors also strapped and drilled wires around the vinyl siding of my house, it looks awful! The contractor stated I couldn't have cable installed if they did not go this route, basically ruining my vinyl siding. He was just a lazy piece of shit wanting to make his job easy by doing a crap job! I feel in a way I'm at fault for allowing it, but at the time I wasn't sure what to do. Now here it is super bowl sunday 2010, and of all days to screw up, my cable is cutting the sound and picture out. The picture turns into hundreds of squares making a blurred picture. Of course Insight doesn't have 24 hr customer service and if you try to find a contact number online you only get a quetionare to describe ... Read more

Insight has mastered the run-around technique. I haven't heard so much garbage come out of someones mouth since Brett Favre's retirement, or Kanye West at the VMA's. (Really anytime he speaks) Simlpy put Insight is the worst Cable/ Internet provider ever! I haven't watched one NFL game this year that hasn't blacked out or lagged every few minutes. It's very amusing to here there solution to my problems are to unplug and restart my router, EVERY 10 minutes. Apparently because it's not them or their stone age servers its the 3 different routers I spent $200 a piece on. (sarcasm) I would prefer if Insight would just say " where so sorry we lie to our customers, we do have terrible service and are not capable of doing anything about it because we are full of Kanye West type of employees who take no responsibility for what they might or might not say or do" If they came out with a formal apology like that I might not feel so bad to pay for something that does not work well at all.

the run 27 commercial a day about how go the services are and about there state of the art on demand service for watching movies and tv shows but, the service has not worked in kentucky since before july first and when i asked when the service would be repaired , i was told sometime in the next few months i should start to regain some on demand features. to make the whole situation worse, i just moved in late july and when i moved they transfered my service from another address but, it looked as if i got new service on their end. so i was told to calm down that i shouldn't be this mad and when i signed up i was told about the problems so there is nothing they can do for new customers, i had service for 5 years at my last residents I hope a new provider comes to louisville, Kentucky soon

Not very good at all where I live. I had them for three years in canal winchester and i lost service once about every four months. Since I moved to reynoldsburgh in June the service has gone out 7-8 times for no reason. It's obviously an issue with the area but when you call them they do nothing but try to set up a tech appointment for the next week. They provide no information or give you any options but waiting for a tech. I just can't deal with the lack of service so i'm going to switch to DSL. A little slower is better than no service at all!

I've had Insight for almost 5 years now because it's the only broadband service in my area. I have had insight out to my house numerous times and I get the same excuse. "You need a signal booster." They tell me the signal is fine to my house, but my computer's to far from where the cable comes into my house. I tried using an extension cord and my laptop to hook my modem directly to their line and avoid my house all together. Still no connection and they won't make it right. I have times when I can't get a connection for 4 or 5 days at a stretch. I would disconnect if I didn't need my internet for school and banking. If a new provider comes to my area I'll be first in line to dump this company!

I've had Insight now for about a year and a half- It's been on and off good with some issues, but for the last month and a half ive been experiencing heavy packet loss- I also play online games, and expect to DC every 2 minutes. It's infuriorating, and out of all the times I've called now, never once have I received any real help, nor have they resolved the issue. I would really like to be able to play the games I pay a monthly subscription for, and not have to worry about constant disconnects because of some unresolved issue. It's crazy.

I was suppose to have my sevices connected at my new house, insight told me between 11 and 2:30. No one showed up. I called insight and they told me that the tech had showed up twice, not true I was at my house all day and nobody showed up at all. then they tryed to describe my house, that was wrong too. So the customer service told me that they were sorry and they would get somebody out there shortly. still no one showed up. I called for the third third time and they said it was too late and there would be somebody out there monday. this is ridulius. I have been with out phone, internet, and cable for a week now and I have to wait another 3 days. And all they could tell me was that they were sorry. If they don't show up this monday on time I will be changing service. Anybody have any good suggestions in the louisville area

What an awful company. We used to have ADSL and it was consistently the same speed. I never had any really slow days and then fast days, it was fast all the time. With Insight's horrible cable service it's everywhere. I'm paying for 20 mb/s and right now I'm getting 1.5 mb/s. They brag in their commercials about being so much better than all the other providers yet they constantly have connection problems, lines supposedly go down, my router constantly gets reset because of their poor service and I have to restart it all the time. I have to agree with what some of the others are saying, I'd rather have a slower connection that's always up than a fast one that's constantly breaking and otherwise inconsistent. My old Alltel ADSL service had a backup dial up line for when the ADSL service was offline either for repairs or because of a downed line or whatever the case. Insight offers no such service and I've frequently lost opportunities at things due to Insight such as eBay auctions an... Read more

Great service...when it's working. I'm constantly having to have them come out and fix something. And their service techs only work 3 days. Sure they credit me for the time my service is out but I would rather just have the service I pay for. I'm switching service. Slower connection beats terrible quality any day in my book.

As a former employee of the broadband side of Insight as well as Charter and Bellsouth's internet, I've seen lots of service issues where people loose their signals only in specific times or have slow speeds for several days/weeks but never tell anyone. All three of the broadband companies that I have worked for have programs setup for speed issues, but you people have to realize that if you don't call in so we can be notified of it, the people on the phones will never hear about it and the maintenance crews won't come out to fix the area. If you're having trouble only at certain times of the day or certain weather conditions, ask to have someone out then, not at a completely different time. Most techs at Insight can get someone out at that time for you. Complaining about it taking 2-3 days for someone to get out there (especially during Aug, all the company's busiest time) is not bad considering at Bellsouth or Charter we were scheduling an average of 10 days out. If you people think ... Read more

Worthless service. I've had sub-56k speeds for over a month now and it's all thanks to their packet shapers, but nobody there will admit it. Their support people really are as dumb as the people in their commercials. Never ever subscribe to them no matter what they say about DSL.

The advertised 10 mgs. is a joke I get worse than 56k phone line modem. it took 20 minutes to download a small windows update. I can not even test my speed at insight sight or any speed testing sight because speed is so slow it just times out. Of course Insight wants to blame my computer. I took my computer to place that built it they kept it for 2 days and speed was perfect. I have been loyal insight broadband user for 7 years but when they come out today if this is not fixed it is looking like dsl to me. It took 5 days to get this in home visit. I have had speed problem for 2 weeks. I hope this is resolved and not by blaming my computer, but by insight laying new lines or whatever it takes to get this right. My neighbors are having same problem as I am with cable internet. From Dianne Allen

The Broadband is fine, when it works! We have been without service for two weeks now with no help in sight. Many others are in the same boat in our area. We have spent over 3 hours waiting on hold and when we reached someone they could not even identify the problem. HORRIBLE customer service and support. I HIGHLY recommend that you do not use this service (term is loosely applied)!

I have had trouble connecting wih the Insight BB server, but all I had to do was unplug WebStar modem, and plug it back in, wait two minutes, then I ignored any error messages from Insight and went about my business, firing up my Firefox browser. Only the last few weeks, and especially the last few days, have I had to do this daily. Tonight I received a wonderful apology from the CEO of Insight Communications on my telephone answering machine. I like Insight Broadband so much, I'm willing to stick with them loyally as they resolve various issues, issues that only cause me a tiny bit of extra work and a tiny bit of impatient frustration. Big deal. I have never had a CEO of a huge corporation leave a message on my machine. That scored huge points with me. We Americans are too pampered and fickle. I'm staying with Insight BB for the foreseeable forever.

Nothing but lousy sub-standard broadband speeds, service & connection drops and now their POP mail serves are down! Since 16:00 yesterday! And I PAY for this service! DSL may be rated slower, but in central Indiana it's much more reliable and has better upload speeds, I think I'm making the switch soon! Deffinitely NOT an ISP you would want your business to run through & depend on for things such as Email! Avoid them when ever possible. You can bet I'll get charged a full bill for services even though last month we went 3 days without any internet service at all and this monthe it's been no POP mail for the last 10 hours. Insight cannot advise when service will come back up either all they tell me is they have no ETA at this time.
