Six Flags America works for me because I live in Maryland and its the closest amusement park around. If I had to travel farther for it, I probably would choose to go to Kings Dominion instead. My negatives are similar to what other raters said. The 9 dollar parking is a little steep, and the food services inside are not that great. However the coasters are great. Many coaster options, and they are all fun. Aside from that, the water park is probably the only other redeemable part of the park. However the park has come a long way from Adventure World and Wild World. Six Flags has put a good deal of money into the coasters, and like Medusa said, there is a lot of capability for expansion and improvement.

If that dancing man in their commercials stopped here, I don't think he'd be that damned excited about it. I sure as hell wasn't. I remembered the park from its beginnings as Wild World, then later as Adventure World. I had hoped it would have improved from Wild World, but today I found out that it hadn't too much. PROS: Admission Prices were reasonable in comparison to neighboring parks (Paramount's Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens, Hershey Park). The Water Park's water was noticably cleaner than many other water parks I've visited. The roller coasters would rate a 4 for quality (fun) and quantity. CONS: Parking costs $9.00 alone. Out of all the rides my husband and I went on, only 3 rides DIDN'T have seats blocked off from the public for maintenance (I kid you not), two rides were completely shut down (including one roller coaster), and someone made the great decision to make riders get off the train after loading it in order to switch trains (which made me wonder what's broke... Save your bucks, folks. This was such a disappointing amusement park. It was a mess from trying to get into the parking lot on. Parking is too much $, the signage is unclear, the bathrooms and food concessions are unclean and smelly, the games are an over-priced rip-off, many rides weren't working (many more than the entrance sign said), it was so dark at night, ride lines were way too long for the number of people in the park, AND they want $8 for Dippin Dots!!! The only reason it gets 2 stars is because when they are running, and when you actually get on one, the coasters are GREAT. Other than that, eat first, take a cab, and hold it till you leave.

Its' no Cedar Point. But it's got decent rides and alot of potential to build up. They are using somthing liek 40% of the land they own.. and teh park is pretty big too. Looking for thrills? Well They have Mind Eraser.. a 90 foot Vekoma SLc.. suspended coaster, pretty intense. Two Face: The Flip side. Vekoma Invertigo.. suspended coaster.. The seats are faced so you look at other riders. The coaster brings you backwards... Up 120 feet i believe. Drops you.. past through the station. Up into a boomerang (Half loop, half corkscrew, half corkscrew half loop) into a loop, Up then this tower brings you up to the same hieght and you do the same thing backwards, very fun. Superman: Ride of Steel. Brings you up 208 feet, drop down 200 feet.. Intamin Hypercoaster, very good ride. Roar, GCI woodie. A very good wooden coaster. only 80 feet i think but packs a great ride. Wild One, this ride used to be in a park in Mass. But got moved. iT's a good ride. Batwing: a Vekoma flying type coaster, s... Read more
