King Arthur Moving Express

Stay far away from this company!!! Without exception they are the worst moving company I have ever used. Their so-called "binding" contract price was doubled after my goods were picked up and I was never shown any proof that the weight (weigh station form) had increased over the original estimate. Many, many things are broken and/or ruined due to heavy boxes being stacked on top of boxes marked "Fragile". Packing tape was applied directly to wooden furniture and when the tape came off so did the finish. Mirrors are broken, antiques are broken, etc. In addition, the company kept demanding cash as payment. I have always paid moving companies with a cashier's check. The nasty, rude driver screamed at me that I had 30 minutes to get him cash or he was leaving with my goods. I could go on and on about how bad this company is. If you are like me, you absolutely hate moving, and what I hate even more than moving, is hiring some stranger to move my most personal and valuable belongings. However recently I found myself once again in a position where I needed to move. Even worse I had to move across state lines...Ughh! A friend of mine told me to call King Arhtur Moving. He said he used them recently for his business, and he wqs really happy with their service. So I gave them a call. I spoke with Laura and she was very friendly and kinowlegdeable. I noticed right away, that her personality to put me at ease. She seems to be very helpful, amking suggestions on things I would need to remember. I was also impressed by the quote she gave me. My stress level was at a 10 and rich brought it down to a 1. I was so stressed about my move and he told me there's nothing to worry about. Rich was always available to discuss to cover the details of my move. In all honesty I did not think any moving company would do the job to my standards but everyone was excellent.

I had to move last week, and I tell you what, I was dreading it. I did a local internet search, and came up with few different companies in my area. I called a couple and got quotes frome them, before I stumbled across King Arthur moving. The first thing i noticed was that a friendly voice answered the phone, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me oout. There saleman was very helpful, and did not try to sell me things that I did not need. He even made some suggestions to help me with packing, that I had not thought about. The estimate they gave me was more than fair, and I felt like I could trust them to take xcar of everything. They arrived on time the morning of the move. I had to move recently, and I will start by saying, "I HATE moving!!!" It is always a pain. I always end up having a negative experience, and I did 'nt expect this time to be any different. A friend of mine told me to call King Arthur Moving company in Van Nuys CA. I did not have their number, so I did a google search, and found their website right away. www.kingarthurmoving.com .Ishot them an e-mail, and I was surprised at how fast I heard back from them. Their sales guy was friendly, and he did not pressure me to commit before I had all my questions answered, which was nice. He gave me a graet price, and did not try to sell me anything that I did not need. The Boss Man Mike is a very friendly guy. Everybody I dealt with was cool. King Arhtur Moving is a great company. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They arrived on time with a friendly energetic attitude. Everybody that I dealt with was friendly and professional. They did not over charge me, and they arrived at their destination early. The most amazing part of this story is that when the move was over and everything was unpacked, I realized that this was the first time I had moved, and nothing got damaged. I could not believe it. I hired King Arthur Moving to pack all of my items and move them to NY. Rich Ryan said he would give a good deal since they travel to the NY and the surrounding areas so often. I asked for a home estimate since that was the safest way to go. I was very impressed by the professionalism of all the staff members from Rich the salesman to all of the crewmembers who contributed to the actual labor. The day of the move they arrived on time and went over all the details with me again about the whole move. I felt very comfortable from beginning to end that I chose the right company to move my life. I even helped my sister, who also wanted to ship a few things back home to the family and added some of her things with mine. Run Away as Fast as you Can - Worst of the Worst Rich Ryan, the salesman, is one of the slickest people around. He will give you a lowball quote and when you question him on it, asking how it is possible, he will state that they make sure to send the truck out fully packed and can pass the savings on to you. I still didn't quite believe him so I sent him a very detailed list with the measurements of all my items. He sent me back the same quote. I called him again to verfiy that this quote won't significantly change. I had been laided off and was just thinking about selling my stuff instead of moving it all the way across the country. My move had very few items (studio apartment) so I was on the fence of hiring movers. Again I was reassured that the quote was accurate and would not significantly change. Great experience! I ve moved many times before with other companies and King Arthur Moving was one of a kind. I dont worry so much about the price it was more about the quality. The guys doing the actual move were so professional at packing and even loading the truck. The handling of my items in such a careful manner really impressed me. If you dont want anything to break make sure you have them pack everything! I can guarantee if i would have been in charge of the packing I would not be a happy person. The price for the packing service is worth every penny. Im not even going to get into the delivery since everything was packed perfectly nothing broke so you can use your imagination folks : ) excellent excellent excellent. THANKS GUYS!

Ive hear nightmare stories about the moving industry all together. I thought King Arthur Moving was a decent company. The pricing was fair, and the staff was polite and careful. It wasnt a huge move to begin with but I have no complaints about the service i received. Ive already recommended them to my friends. I would use them again.

If I could, and there was an option, I wouldnt give them a star at all because they don't deserve it. This was the worse moving experience I have ever encountered. 1)Rich Ryan, a cunning and deceptive man, is the epitome of what a sales person person is. He feeds you false security on a golden spoon of lies. Everything this man said was the opposite of what turned out with our whole transaction. He claimed that King Arthur Moving was the best around because "When your family needs to relocate across America, you can expect that King Arthur Moving Express will treat your things like they are our own." He also claimed that their prices are the best around as well, which he makes it sound like they are because he has you walk around your house house claiming what you are taking and bases the estimate off that. I'm very pleased and surprised to be recommending a moving company. When I decided to move from Los Angeles, California to Houston, Texas, I decided to use King Arthur Moving Express. Kelly and his crew carefully wrapped my furniture and possessions. They did such a good job with everything. Anyone who is looking for a company that will treat your belongings like their own should definitely consider King Arthur Moving Express. Bottom line, these guys know their business, and I can't say enough about the crew, they really paid careful attention and made everything easy.

The sales effort before the move was excellent. However, the weight - hence the cost - was more than double the calculated estimate. (It remains a mystery how this was possible). Boxes clearly marked "Do Not Lay Flat", were crushed from laying flat. Finally, my $11,000 baby grand piano was left in a pile of pieces in my livingroom. Several attempts to rectify this were made and unanswered by this mover.
