    This is a little bit of a head scratcher, but it does grow on you. It is the story of Larry Gopnik, loosely based on the biblical Job who has a world of trouble crashing down on his head. The action takes place in 1967.Minneapolis has St. Paul to the east and is surrounded on the other three sides by suburban cities and towns. One city just to the west of Minneapolis is St. Louis Park, called by the locals, St. Jewish Park, the home town of Larry Gopnik, hero of this movie, the Coen brothers, Sen. Al Franken, Thomas Friedman, Dan Israel, Sharon Isbin, Pete Hautman, and many other worthies. The location is part of the movie.Larry is a professor at the local college and trying to get tenure. He has all kinds of problems. He has financial problems. He has a goy neighbor with whom he has a property dispute.
