If ass-in-a-bottle Tecate isn't getting sold, guess who'se the runner up? Yep. Sol. These are the 2 top selling beers in Baja California, the third close in consumption is 2 XX, and that's only because so many of you whiteys like it, so of course all those cheap ass strip clubs ya'll go to have to serve it. Anyways, Sol isn't that bad of a beer, and only because it's light. It's taste is actually okay, and it doesn't taste as bad as Tecate when it starts getting warmer. It looks better too. It's taste remains the same throughout, and I recommend it over Tecate anyday. It's not cheaper, it's actually the same price as Tecate, more expensive than Corona, unless you're way down south. Overall, it's an alright beer. You'll end up with a neutral opinion on it.

I was trying to give this beer 1/3 of a star. But, that being said I must explain my tastes. I would rather drink a "meaty" German Lager or a smooth German Pils before I crack open an American wannabe. To me the taste of Sol is much like Miller High Life. (my wife says its more like "beast" or PBR) On our last visit to Mexico, we went on a tour of the Coba ruins. On the way back to the resort, we stopped at a hole in the wall restaurant. This place could best be compared to an American Truck Stop. Great food, but you might not want to stop there unless you were accompanied by a local. The food was great, but they had Sol on the table as the "house" beer. It sufficed to cut my thirst. I thought it was funny that when I was the only one at the table drinking it, but really thought it was odd when I realized that most of the tables were not touching theirs at all. I realized that I was really desperate for an alcoholic beverage, anything would suffice. This beer is ok if yo... Read more

I first had Sol beer when I was 16 visiting Mexico for the first time. I had only had maybe 10 different kinds of beer then, but I really liked Sol, and cannot remember how many I drank over my 1 week vacation. I picked up a six pack this evening to enjoy with Monday Night Baseball on ESPN. Its just as good as I remembered. I feel like I'm back on the beach. Viva Sol Beer!

This beer was the best beer I ever had from Mexico. I have had at least 9 different types of mexican beers, and Sol is the smoothest, best tasting, beer I think they have. Corona is two stars to me. DosXX is 4. This is definately 5!

A very light and refreshing beer. Add a lime and you are truly drinking the nectar of the gods! No bitter after-taste like with "skunky" Corona.

I think it has a nice cool, refreshing taste....outshines Corona's "skunky flavor" by a long shot!

One of the worst beers I've ever tasted. I avoid it like the plague. Gives you bad hangovers even if you just drink a few.

This is a must taste cervesa!  I have very fond memories of drinking 1 ltr. bottles of Sol at La Playa Tiburon on Isla Mujeres while listening to la musica and eating BBQ King Makerel and rice.  Cut the limes, fill your face and drink up!  Freaking Awesome!  If you have not been to the Isla you must go and drink the Sol.  Honestly a great time!

Mi cerveza favorita de todo en Mexico.= My favorite, I spent 6 weeks in Mexico, tried them all and this was by far the best. It makes Corona taste disgusting in comparison.

It's a shame more people don't know about Sol. It's is much, much more refreshing and tasteful than Corona. Drop a lime in and enjoy, this is a quality beer.

Mexican version of Keystone. Proof? Why is it always dirt cheap in the grocery store? Like 3.99 a sixer? Taste is truly awful.

I can't believe Sol has alcohol in it. It literally tastes like juice. Very light and clean - makes Corona feel like a Sierra Nevada. Again, if it's really hot outside, you just can't beat a cold Sol.
