I've been starting to see the importance of this. The past couple of years I've been meeting mostly 21-23 year olds, which has worked out since I'm sort of anti committal by nature, but if I was looking to get married I would probably look for 25 or older. I think that by that time people more or less know what they want, and are more open to meet the right person for them. I guess that review is more for an age minimum than a close in age requirement, but there was no category for the former.

A matter of personal preference and unimportant, provided there isn't a legal issue. I have an abiding fondness for younger women, and enough of them have an interest in me, so it generally works out. In my own life I had relationships with women twenty years or more my senior when I was in my twenties, and I've been involved with women nearly thirty years younger since I hit my fifites. This is one of those "whatever works for you" items.

No, age has nothing to do with spirit, health, personality, all that is critical. 80 and 18, is most likely going to be unreasonable or motives of some other type are in play, but being realistic, there can be a gap in years lived, without any problems at all.

Not older but a little younger could be nice

My bf I have now is 17 years older than me, but he's cool as hell. It's hard being with someone that much older but you get used to it over time. He's young at heart. We've been together for 3 years so I think it's going ok.

I would like her to be within five years younger then me. I know the older you get the less and less that actually matters but for when you are in your 20s I think you need to have someone close to your age. I am also really big on being the older out of the two of us, just a mental thing because I use to make fun of my dad all the time for being a few months younger then my mom, and there is no way that Zorohem Jr. is going to mock me because his momma is older then I am!

I think relativity is an isssue.  If you are 16 a two year age difference is considerable, if you are 35 then two years is negligable, if you are relatives then age isn't a factor, its just weird. As you get older you go from - having to be in the same grade at school, to - having to be in the same level school, to - being born in the same decade, to - knowing that the Beatles weren't insects.
