I told a friend of mine in May-08 that I'd signed with Challenger to build a pool. He told me " I wish you'd have checked with me first " and "Consider yourself lucky if you're done by Christmas". I never would have believed it, but, Christmas is right around the corner..... still NOT done. To be fair, it's not all bad. Keep in mind, Challenger doesn't 'build' pools - they design the pool, and contract the actual work out to 5 or 6 different specialty companies who do the construction. I will say that Challenger's specs are great - and for the most part, the contractors doing the work have done a great job. Earlier, 'joedejohn' stated "The only time we hear from them is when they want a check". I CANNOT stress to you how accurate this statement is - it's worth repeating - you will NEVER hear from them until it's time to cut a check. However, when you tell them a check is ready to go, they will be there within the hour - every time. The sales person will tell you that the job ... Read more

Challenger pools started our pool about 8 weeks ago..they told me it would take around 10 to 12 weeks to build unless they had any issues with insepections!!! To my amazement when i got home from vacation my pool was finished!!! I had no idea they were still on top of things without a homeowner up there tails!!!! i had a door knocker askin me to call the project manager..I called him and he wanted to know when was a good time for ME not him to show my husband and I how to use the chemicals and do a start up on the pool! He took a sample of the water for us and tested it to make sure everything was perfect! Our pump had a small leak in it and he didnt waste time or tell us to call the office for service he fixed it right then and called a few days later to see if we were enjoyin our pool and things were working fine with the pump..And they were!! If i ever buy another home or have a friend or family intrested in buying a pool I will hands down make sure they go with challenger pools!

I had my pool done by Challenger Pools about 6 months ago!! I reall LOVE it!!! The sales man helped throughout the whole process with questions we had about pricing and our project manger alway's answered at any hour if we had a concern.. He was at the job almost every other day and walked us through from begining to end for the 7 1/2 weeks it took to build it..They told us it would be about 10 weeks before it was done but had it finished 2 1/2 weeks early...My kids are now in heaven with there new pool and we have had no problems with anything and still get calls from the company making sure everything is still working fine...If anyone wants a pool i highly recommend Challenger Pools and the staff they have working!!!

challenger pools just finished our pool and we love it. We contacted them about an advertised special and they honored their ad and we are swimming at a very reasonable price. it is not a huge pool- however we have a nice pool for the kids to swim and we have a nice sunshelf to relax on. The paver guys did not speak english-who cares they did a great job. i feel that it has added value to our house and would highly recomend them.

We too have a pool installed by Challenger Pools. We pretty much agree about the customer service and the sales guy. No one EVER calls back!!! We were promised a $500 check for referrals. So far we've given one referral and their pool is just about complete and STILL NO CHECK! The salesguy even said he would, "cut you a personal check from my account" STILL NO CHECK. It would be one thing if the guy would just be plain honest and tell us you won't see a check so we would quit looking for it. At this point, it is the principle of the situation. Challenger Pools intentionally lied to us based on the facts to date. We are considering small claims court.

Started with the sales guy who has never called since the day he took our down payment. The only time we hear from them is when they want a check. Can never understand the workers. Late on everything they've told us. Some guys showed up and said they didn't have a part for the drain, never saw them. I would not recommend them in any way. You can't get a straight answer, the sales guy disappears after the deal is done, and nothing ever happens when they say it will. If they make these things right, I will be back on here immediately to let everyone know about it. But for now, stay away from this pool company. If I find out that my pavers break apart and they won't warrant them, they will DEFINITELY have a legal situation on their hands.

Challenger Pools has the worst customer service I have ever experienced! They do not return phone calls. They contact you, only for money and of course that person can only take a messege to have someone never call you back. They sent electricians that arrived with no ladder, flashlight or drill and had to use mine. They sent workers who did not speak english and would knock on the door confused. When I asked Challenger about this they said "just point", as if I know what they should be doing. They also installed the wrong light in my pool, correct one is laying broken on the bottom of the pool. I am on the last phase of my pool and I can only hope to never have to deal with these rude people for any type of repair/warrenty issues. I will tell everyone I know DO NOT USE CHALLENGER POOLS-RUN!!!!

    - The Diggers busted our main sewer pipe and we were never notified. Had to call them once our toilets started backing up over the Christmas Holidays. Very rude and impersonal customer service. Their goalis to get your money first and deal with your issues later. You have make calls yourself in order to find out anything. The only consistent calls were when a payment was due. Made final payment and now we have plumbing leaks, noticable "bumps" in the pool surfacing, yellow algea build-up from pool being filled (and sat for over a week) without pump being operational, and deck jets are not completed as well. On my second call into the Challenger office and still no word on when they'll be able to fix these issues.

This company only cares about you as long as the warranty is good. I had pavers installed and the warranty was out and they told me to call a paver company to fix the pool....The warranty from this company is only good on the lower shell of your pool DO NOT USE THEM. NOT RECOMMENDED
