I absolutely love Julia Roberts! She can play anything! She can be beautiful like in 'pretty woman' or a hardworking, single mother in 'Erin Brockovich'. She is one of the most sought after actresses in hollywood! She gives her films fresh breathe! Even in her personal life she has donated to charities and appears to be a good person! When I watch her movies, its like I am really there, leading an exciting life!

I liked her in "Mystic Pizza" - thought she did a very believable social climber/party girl. I've also enjoyed watching "Knotting Hill" several times...which could be more due to the story and location than Julia's input. As far as her looks go - well, she does appear to have more and bigger teeth than Secretariat. Still, she can be somewhat chameleon-like - more attractive in some shots and certain light than in others. Overall, I think she has amassed a fairly decent collection of light comedy roles and some not-too-bad drama. Years from now, I predict they'll be running her stuff on weekends in the name of nostalgia the way they still run the Doris Day/Rock Hudson films today.

I love Julia, and I love her niece, Emma. I think they are both great actresses. I did not and continue to dislike people calling her ugly and a terrible actress. But to each their own. I think she is brilliant and does a wonderful acting job. Though her laugh is a bit on the obnoxious side.

Julia Fiona Roberts is her full name, born in Smyrna, Georgia, 1967 she is one of the most popular actress in America. she is veterinarian Julia's biggest success was in the signature movie Pretty Woman (1990), for which Julia got an Oscar nomination, and also won the People's Choice award for Favorite Actress. such a talented actress

Julia Roberts is a mediocre actress with Mrs Poatohead lips. She tries too hard to fake chemistry with Tom Hanks in the sappy "Made for Lifetime" movie Larry Crowne(go watch it on netflix if you don't believe me).

I can hardly stand looking at this women! Husband stealer, bad actress and a HAS BEEN. Go away and be the earthy mom to your kids. I for one don't want to see you in the movies. You are not a "Pretty Woman." It was a dumb message for young girls anyway.....

Uh, no-o-o. Not as lop-sided as her brother, but 'pretty woman' is false advertising.

numbah expresses puzzlement how she could be America's sweetheart for over a decade and I largely concur. However, I draw attention to the woman's mouth, which looks like it could swallow a summer sausage without any trouble at all.

Overrated. She was soooooo bad in Michael Collins, that instead of a cease fire, The 'Ra should have quadrupled its membership.

I liked her in FLATLINERS, but her brother, Eric, when he was first starting out was absolutely gorgeous. Check him out in "Raggedy Man"...they look alike but Eric has green eyes, and straighter features (had I mean) plus, what a bod--total hottie, WOW...He could actually get into character. Played good-guys, bad-guys and everything in between. Too bad he got into a motorcycle crash which destroyed his perfect face. He did too many drugs, too...he looks terrible now. Julia Roberts does not have the range that her brother did. jlh

More like 3.5. I always thought she was somewhat overrated and doesn't have much range. Although, I did really enjoy her performance in "Confessions of A Dangerous Mind".

She probably deserves four star for her acting ability, but I'm going to have to demote her a star for the kind of movies she makes. I can't say that I've ever been excited to see the next Julia Roberts movie.

Some will disagree but Julia Roberts is pretty good. She can do comedy and serious roles as well.

Nearly 250 entries in this category. Roberts' name does not readily come to mind when thinking about the classic or the most talented. There is room enough in the movies for the appeal of a next-door type, male or female. Like Meg Ryan, has found it hard to either play away from type or for audiences o accept her as such, although she was quite into her character in director Mike Nichols' 'Closer' and find her Academy Award well earned.

Can't watch anything she's in.  Pretty Woman was the worst movie of all-time, no wonder Hollywood pays her $20 million a film.  Think about the plot, a Hollywood street hooker, who isn't on drugs, doesn't have AIDS, and won't let a rich millionaire take care of her financially because I guess that goes against her morals, but sucking d*ck for money doesn't....laughable.  If this horse-toothed hag is America's Sweetheart, then I guess Charles Manson is the All-American Boy.....my god, the American public is so easily duped by Hollywood and the tabloids.  I wish I could've rated her a zero but it wouldn't let me.

Whatever role she is in, she is always Julia Roberts first, I have never seen "disappear" into a character, like say, Meryl Streep.

All you one star people can stick it up your ass. Shes a wonderful actress and one of my few favorites too. And by God more people should be doing something about pollution, we need stars to jump on the green band wagon. Thats usually how environmental stuff gets started anyway. Have fun breathing in the dirty air, GenghisTheHun.

I have said this before, not on this site, however. With Julia Roberts, you either think she is a great actress, or a terrible one. Either super ugly or super sexy. I am one of these people who say that she is a great actress and is super sexy. People that complain about her fame are just posers who wish they had the same. Also, people say she is stupid, but actually, she is rather smart. Make a great guest on Real Time with Bill Maher. Has good attacks on George W. Bush, the absolute positive worst president in United States History.

I've tried unsuccessfully again and again to imagine kissing her...but, oddly, memories of my grandpa's 1947 Buick Roadmaster, with that gawdy grillework of vertical chrome bars, in a gleaming grimace of arrogance or constipation...maybe both.  Granted, she may be a decent actor, but since the tabloids bring their f-d up lives right to my morning bagel, I reserve the right to vary from an artistic rendition of criticism.  By the way, Tom Cruise is allegedly a good actor, too.

OVERrated! agreed. whudafck??? 20 mil a film??? that could house the millions of poverty stricken people around the world and her acting deserves it instead? holy sh*t! if the great miss pretty woman could afford to give up just one of her ridiculously undeserved paychecks imagine what that could do for people who actually need it....shes not even that good of an actress......or good-looking.

She is a beautiful actress. She will be my favorite forever. She has 8 movies that has made over 100 million at the box office. I am not including the Ocean's movies.I predict many more. She is the most successful actress of all time.

She is adequate but not as good as she thinks she is. Why, for instance, in a good movie, "Michael Collins," would the Hollywood dopes miscast her as Kitty? Must be that so-called star power, I guess.

O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D! C'mon, 20 mil a film? She's proven time and again that she can't open a film. Put her in an emsemble (Ocean's 11, Closer) and she's fine. However, when her name is above the line (Mona Lisa Smile), she can't pull it off. And let's not even go to Broadway. 20 mil? Negro please..

The hype surrounding her is definitely over-rated when compared to the buzz generated by an actual performance. There are definitely better actresses, and none of them are worth 20 mill. a movie, get real!

Julia Roberts sucks, she should keep her HUGHE mouth shut about the President, like him or not, she should not be using her public persona to voice her opinion, after all they are like a holes and they all stink. HE IS YOUR PRESIDENT A HOLE, YOU LIVE/WORK HERE!

I can't believe so many people are rating her lowly because they don't like her looks. I personally think she's lovely but that doesn't impact my opinion of her acting, which is A-1. She can do comedy (The Mexican, My Best Friend's Wedding) as well as drama (Steel Magnolias, Erin Brockovich) and is fabulous in suspense (Sleeping with the Enemy, Mary Reilly, The Pelican Brief). I really can't recall her in anything that I didn't at least like.

The reason I like Julia, besides being a good actress, is because she hasn't been in any awful movies. The extent being Pretty Woman.
