good, recognizable sound, highly influential can make you cry and make you wanna dance. Should be a little higher up. At like #20

He should be higher than number 28! He built his own guitar and created a unique sound that no one can recreate. Before him, people didn't use distortion. They just strummed on a clean setting. Only Jimi Hendrix used distortion. Go listen to We Will Rock You solo, Brighton Rock solo (Live) and the Bo Rap solo and you will easily recognize that it is BM playing. There are not too many guitarists that come on the radio and you recognize it right away. But really? C'mon. 28? That's ridiculous! He should be higher.

He is if not the greatest, surely without out doubt one of the best, all I can say is when he came along knowone played or sounded like him and that knowone to this day has managed to recreate his sound as well as he has. Just watch Brighton rock solo wembley stadium 1986 and you'll know what i'm talking about.

Brian May adalah gitaris terbaik Dunia Sepanjang Masa. Orang yang tidak menyebut Brian May sebagai gitaris No. 1 adalah Tuli dan ada masalah pada telinganya. Jadi telinganya harus diperbaiki dan dibawa ke dokter THT.

Maybe not a Satriani or a Vai (to much notes at once), but he has a very unique sound and special way of playing (a lot of feel goes into his guitar work). He also build his own guitar (how many famous guitars are homebuild(not custom made)? Brians, Bo didley and...???? not many). BTW: Satriani, Vai and Slash are all influenced by Brian May.

Brian May is one of my favorites. His riffs soar in a distinctive way. Brian May can't be mistaken for anyone else. He can seamlessly slip into playing rythym too.

Brian has done some great solos over the years, and Queen have certainly made some great music too over this time. I enjoy listening to him play, and he had more variety and technique as the years went by.

One of the most innovative guitarists ever. Too many great riffs to mention but "Keep Yourself Alive" is one of the best.

I'm sorry did someone say that Brian May is Gay!!!! What do you base this on? The way he speaks, oh!! Anyone who has been to the UK will know that an accent can be a very deceiving thing!!!! Brian May is still very happily married and has, I believe 4 or 5 kids!!! (Unless of course someone is going to confess that they have slept with him) I think that judging a person by their voice, is not a way to judge if they are Gay or not!!!As for how he plays the Guitar, I have to say that he is good, but not the greatest; I think even Brian would agree on that. Although I would say that there is no one that could ever match his rendition, of the British National Anthem. (Standing on top of Buckingham Palace!!!) That was just outright Cool!!!!!!

Brian May is an adequete guitarist. He has some great moments, like Bohemian Rhapsody and Brighton rock, but overall, there are better guitarists out there. Greatest Song- Bohemian Rhapsody

May is able to compete well with many guitarists, but his overall strength lies in the sheer breadth of styles that he is able to encompass

May is a VERY stylistic and lyrical player, who evokes much emotion. His solos just SOAR! The man doesn't just play a solo... he paints pictures! One of rock's all time best guitarists hands down.

Incredible--can play WIDE range of styles very well. Sure, there are players who could play each individual style better then he--but who could honestly say they could do them ALL?! Brian May could. Very clear and recognizable tone, too.

I'm not big on this band's music, but the guy could really play, and had a style all his own.

Brian is a wonderful guitarist. He has a lot of talent, you just listen to his solo on The Invisible Man and that proves it. A modest man by all means, but even he should never deny his own talent! Love you Brian, and you're a legend to us all.

Cr*p hair, v. good player. Not that I care much for Queen's music but May at least has a very individual tone that you can recognise a 1000 yards off. Come to think of it he also penned most of Queen's best songs. A bit short of being great IMO as his playing doesnt leave me thinking 'how the feck does he do that'.

I agree with the guy before. The very first 'rock' band i liked was Queen. Very good harmonies and an excellent contrast on rhythms and tempos in almost every song. All the Respect fo Brian May, but I think there is nothing really extraordinary in his guitar playing. That doesn't mean I don't like it.

Brian May has an impeccable ease with the guitar that made all great Queen songs even better. Listening to his guitar playing is one of the best things that brings such amazement, wonder and awe to the ears. He is certainly one of the best guitarists of all time.
