Look you can say what you want about this band! But the fact remains they did very well in their country of origin and well that’s what they wanted to do! For the person who said they were a flop and they did not make it because they did not make it in US charts, is extremely narrow minded and doesn’t truly understand why music is made and released. The US unfortunately is not the be all and end all of music! There are plenty of bands that made it in the US, but nowhere else! That’s because music is personal, personal to the listener, not the country! I personally like them for a few of their songs, however I'm not a huge fan; but I will say they are good! My mother recently passed away and in the collection of pictures we had of her and family we played "some fantastic place" for the music! It was a hit!!!! Loosing a mother much loved was very hard and because of how she was in her life and how strong her faith in Christ was; this song hit it right on the head!!! I love you mum, may y... Read more

woefully under-rated classic 80s band. Get out the Vote: Up the Junction, Cool for Cats, Goodbye Girl, Another Nail in My Heart, Pulling Mussels from the Shell, Black Cofffee in Bed, Annie Get your Gun, amoung other calssics.

I am a big fan of theirs. If the Hall of Fame was only about record sales then perhaps they wouldn't qualify. Their songwriting alone could justify their induction. Squeeze brought us Difford and Tilbrook plus Jools Holland. Paul Carrack did some fine work with them and Gil was a first-class drummer. Live, they rocked much harder than on record. I especially remember the version of "Great Balls of Fire" they played as an encore on one of the tours. Jerry Lee would have liked it.

No way. Not even enough good songs to fill 1/2 of a greatest hits album.

They were a mid-upper tier band in their genre, but completely flopped in the US, with only one top 20 hit. Yes, they had a hell of a lot of UK hits, but the US charts matter a lot more due to the population differences between the two countries. For them to have a cumulative rating this high is laughable.

They made some decent pop music, and were entertaining at the time, but I don't think they made any real contribution to Rock n Roll.

One of the most underrated bands ever. The fact that Elvis Costello mentioned Difford and Tilbrook's worthiness of induction at his OWN induction into the R and R H of F speaks volumes. At the very least they are worthy of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

A good band that got no respect here in the US. Their early 80's top 40 success was'nt even close to the quality of the rest of their material.
