My favorite Japanese sporty car. I had one in the mid 80's that had a DOHC straight 6. That engine sang to me, I's not as exotic as an NSX, but I could drive it without being arrested.

The supra is a legend. People who dont appreciate this car for what it is are just a bunch of haters which cant stand the fact they cant have somthing rare and unique, so the best they can do is hate with jealousy to calm them self down. Supras are amazing.

It is kind of hard to compare the supra to some of the other cars on the list but it definantly can hold its own. The 2JZ engine is a VERY solid engine and is capable of great things. Its easier to get upwards of 450hp out of this engine than it is for some V-8's. The stock internals of this engine are more than capable of handling extreme power and this car truly is a sports car in its own right because of the fact that for A LOT less money than a conventional sports car you can have your own V-8 killer that can get some serious looks. I'd take a twin turbo Mk IV over a Corvette or Camaro any day of the week!

Good job Toyota! It seems that given 3 years to improve on the Z wasn't enough. Best edition of the Celica to date. Appropriate that Toyota's in house tuning is TRD, because the Supra looks like one.

The car looks awesome. I turn heads where ever i go, and i have no exterior mods whatsoever. maybe they're looking at how terrible it is? hah, not when they give me the thumbs up. Got many props from many people. The car is stock. Handles awesome, tackles those curves like nothing. Extremely fast once you hit 2nd gear... i don't care about horsepower because in layman's term, this car picks up the speed and has high top speed. this is a maniac car, and takes a maniac to drive one... totally awesome!!!!!!! the interior is great for 2 people, anything more than that, you're going to feel sorry for the additional seatings unless they are 40lbs... on top of that, trunk room is a little small, but what you get in performance makes up for the lack in interior room. If you ever have the opportunity to just drive it, please do, you will be impressed. Go to the autotrader or something like that, find someone selling it close to you, even if you don't want to buy it (pretend you do of ... Read more

after working on the MKIII and MKIV's for several years, i believe that these cars are the all mighty god of Import cars. ive worked on several Nissan TT's also. but the only car that stands a chance against the supra is the Skyline in ability to reach 1200HP. Yeah, you can go out and spend $300,000 on a Lamborghini but for half the price you can get a sweet looking supra and have the 1200HP that you desire. just my .02 cents..

How is anyone going to compare cars worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to a Supra? I wouldn't trade mine for anything else. It's worth every penny I have put into it. In a few more months, my Supra will reach the triple crown and I bet my first born child I could take down any of the cars rated higher than the Supra. As for talk of the McLaren F1 being the fastest, I beg to differ, the Dodge Viper Hennessy is. Look it up in any Road and Track. If anyone is going to belittle others out there, research your information first. The Toyota Supra is the best car for the money, sure you can buy a Z28 or a T/A, then you'll be driving the same car as both your next door neighbors. Being rare is worth something too. Oh and for those of you who don't like the way the car or the wing looks, it's called aerodynamics.

Ok, here it is plain and simple. The 93.5-98 SupraTT (98 was the last year to buy one in the US) is without a doubt the strongest built car of it's time. It comes stock with a 320HP 325 ft/lb Torque, I6TT that is capable of 800HP on it's stock bottom end! And as far as the fuel system goes, many people have many low 11 second passes on stock fuel systems. Is there any other car out there that can measure up to that? I don't own one yet, but after driving many of them I have come to respect them. The 2JZ is capable of producing well over 1000HP and actually has Turbo Kits for 1200+HP. As far as cronering .85G is pretty damn good for stock! As far as I'm concerned it is worth every penny of the price. If you have any comments or arguements please respond to me at [email protected] And I almost forgot, the Skyline has an advangate over the Supra in the 1/4, but after that it's all the massive topend of the Supra. If you don't believe me go to www.MKIV.com and visit the videos s... Read more

Ok the MKIII are not the greatest looking cars and ya they are pretty heavy but i love my 87 and it is never going to be sold......The MKIV model on the otherhand is PERFECT. You can afford one without having to live in it. As for mustangs, corvetts, and camaros i pass a dozan of each on the way home but i have only seen 2 other MKIII's and 1 MKIV around. By the way McLaren boy when you have one in your driveway then you can talk ok?

I bought a MKIII 1987, 5 speed supra about a year ago. For a 16th Birthday present, i am awe struck!!! granit, it's not a C5, or Z06, but it's ALOT of fun to drive, and their values continually grow, especially being in MINT condition.... Will be buying a MKIV in the next few years, DEFINITLY!!!!!

You know, there are many beautiful cars. I even wish women looked as good as a Supra, but like any truly wonderful thing, it can be improved. I'd love a supra, just off stock but If I had one, well, lets just say that those little british cars may pack hp but no british anything can just glide like a toyota.

THis is for the debate of swarzkopf and Red Celica Gt and to all the other morons who think a Supra?? is the best. To this date the newest fastest production car is the street legal Dodge Viper Venom 800tt. If you are a perfectionist when it comes to cars and want the best of the best than the venom is yours! And wow 0-60 in 2.43 no wonder its the fastest production car. But yeah ok i forgot the supra is the best right. Yeah its a good all around car, but man I want the best of the best!

Have any of you guys heard of the Nissan GT-R?!? Yes the Supra is a great car, but still doesn't have the agressive styling edge of the 300zx, which Toyota so obviously was trying to emulate (old and reliable Toyota tactics). Toyota produced a slightly faster (speed) and quicker (acceleration) car, only 3-4 years later, and a less attractive package. Only a mother (or owner apparently) could love those looks. I'd still have one if on offer, but I prefer my Z. Here's an interesting fact for you guys... the speed record down the (short) straight at Australia's Mt Panorama race track is 199MPH by a 1200HP 300ZX. Also, go check the websites for the GT-R's, you might be surprised when you find the specs on the limited edition high performance GT-R's.

Hmmmmm Cage rules. Let's analyze your critique of the Toyota Supra. "Can't beat 0-60 in 2.43 seconds or max out at 235 mph". So what? The Supra is a competent, durable, well-rounded sports car many people could live with. It's fast and high tech without being overly ostentatious. The Viper on the other hand is U-G-L-Y. Can you afford the gas for your precious Viper? The insurance? How do you park the damn thing without hitting another car? Are you prepared to live with a lemon? Where do you store your sunglasses? How does the Viper handle twisting, winding roads? Duh. Like I said before, the Viper is a one trick pony.

Best cars I have EVER bought. For the money you can NOT beat it, plain and simple. Some say it is too heavy. I LIKE my heavy car. My first Supra died and I was able to walk away uninjured from my wreck, ( I took the front end off of a '76 Cougar!, they went to the hospital, I went home) Lets see a RX-7 do that? BTW the wreck was not my fault.... The ONLY car I have ever wanted and own...Supra

I own a 1984 MKII Celica Supra, and I'm very happy with it. No real problems, I could just drive it and drive it and not have to worry if there's going to be a busted-this or snapped-that. The new, 93 and up MKIVs, well, those are just awesome! I don't understand how some say that it's not that pretty. The headlights, the whole rear shot, those are just beautiful! To say you need to add a body kit to be noticed is just plain uninformed. All of my friends comment how cool "this one car" looked, even not knowing it was a supra. How can you comapre the common Mustang to a more unusual Supra? Everyone and their brother has one of those 90 or higher ones. Spend a daily commute trip, and count the amount of mustangs and supras, of ANY years. I think originality comes into play. And what's this about an F1? Well, if we go by that logic, I think an F-16 is faster and produces more horsepower. So does that make it better? But Swarzkopf, I'm glad you could clear up my confusion by lett... Read more

owned a 92 Toyota Supra and it was horrible, slow at take off and it seem overall way too big. Not really a SPORTS car at all. Styling was old and a direct copy of Testarossa front end nose. Drivers seat had squeeze/blow up bolsters that never worked right. In same price range, i heard better choices are the Nissan Z, Mazda RX7,

Now for all you none beleivers who dont think that a supra can go about 180 stock, heres what ya do. find a person with a stock TT. now pull the traction control fuse. this is what controls the speed limiter. now take it and see how fast it will go. and ya didnt even have to speed a few 100 on a chip.

Good car, handles excellent and fast. BUT to be at the top of this list?!? You have to be kidding. This car lacks looks to boot, although it can be modded to go fast so can a Mustang and Z28 (much cheaper cars to own and with way more power potential). It has a nice interior but not so much to get it to the top of this list. It in no way is better then the interior of a M3 or Z32. you absolutley HAVE TO HAVE a body kit to get noticed in this car! Looks to much like its little ugly sister the outgoing Celica. The factory Wing is ,at this point, laughable due to it finding its way on WAY to many Civic's. And for some reason these things are going for more then the blue book should allow on the street and with twice the amount of miles on most examples too! Never get one from the kid who "BPU'ed" it as its sure to heave its internals within 10k miles of driving it away from long necked 21 years olds who beat its brains out at the track! A nice car? Yes! but it should not be at ... Read more

If everyone wants speed, why not buy a true sports car, A Z28, with less than 1000 in modifications(including a power adder) would be faster than a BPU Supra. And guess what, you can get a new Z28, for the price of a very used Supra....

uhhh ever hear of the TRV from britain that is 810 hp and hits 242. hmmmmm do your research and the supra will not hit 183 stock please you have to chip it and mod it for that and why would you wanna drive a car that looks like a killer whale on speed. Whoever the design team leader for the latest supra should be black marked for life. It takes a body kit to make the supra even ok to look at but then it has to have 18s on it also. Stock it is nasty!!
