Save the Last Dance

This is another sob story aimed at teenage girls and it made a lot of money, so we can expect more from Hollywood. Sorry, I can only give it two tear drops.

Julia Stiles SUCKS. So does Sean Patrick Thomas.

This movie personally for me has to be one of the best movies aimed at the teenage market. A lot of the times we see teenage movies using the virtue of teenage agnst as an excuse to start treating teenagers as idiots or trying to instill a patronising life theme. They go from one extreme to another, no spectrum in-between. Teenagers are not idiots their young adults and the more films that stopped trying to depict them as idiots or patronising them the more they would be appreciated. The themes used in this film: teenage mother (Derricks sister), inter-racial relationships (Derrick and Julie), dreams coming true (Julie trying to get into Julliard), coping with death at a young age and peer pressure are all too real. This film used it in a very tasteful and realistic manner. Bravo!!

This movie was a cute little drama, but far too predictable. The acting was good however, and this pulled it out of the slump that started at the beginning. I think movies like this are very important for race relations. I would recommend it to most people.

What can you expect from MTV studios? A corny, predictable movie that tries too hard to appeal to the teens who want to believe that they aren't brainwashed into Britney and NSYNC worship - but are really still unable to escape the pop culture "bubble" MTV among others has bombarded them with. This movie had a good concept, and a plot with enough interesting twists that it could have been a great movie under different producers. But the acting and the predictably cliched scenes were a little too "Crossroads" reminiscent, if you get what I mean. The actors seemed to be talking down to the audience (the target market of 12-14 year olds), instead of really becoming their characters (as the actors in Crazy/Beautiful, for example, managed to do). Above all else, this is more marketed teen fluff. It's trying to be the "thinking teen's" ultimate movie, but it's really closer to Britney Spears' "Crossroads".

its just fun.have some popcorn and have some fun. sean patrick thomas is a actor to take notice of.mr. thomas has a real future in this business,if they allow him to use all of his tools.

Julia Stiles was just excellent. The music was wondeful, and the acting was pure art.

I was disappointed with this movie, The girl who's name I can't even remember because the movie suck, had her boyfriend help her learn new move's but she couldn't dance what so even so was boring and dull

The movie was awesome!!!! and the people out there who think the movie sucked are probably just jelous cuz the actors and actresses in the movie's dreams came true!

INSANITY!! how does this movie even compare to a REAL film? Any positive feeling this movie could have left me with was sucked away by Julia Stiles's nonexistant acting talent! Blech. give me a break MTV, I can't believe I payed to see this movie, someone out there, somewhere, owes me 8 bucks!

This movie was butta!!! It is one of the very best movies I've seen. One reason is because they showed the problems between whites and blacks together.

This movie is brilliant, possibly the best I've ever seen. It is a heartwarming story about inter- racial relationships, and overcoming tragic losses to become what you have always dreamed of becoming. Julia Stiles & Sean Patrick Thomas are jammin'. They portray their characters so well, and are obviously very talented in both acting and dance. The story is well wrote, giving great depth on what really goes on in the real America, outside the glossy Hollywood. Well done Thomas Carter, a brilliant movie. Well done also to the writer(s), and all actors, especially Julia & Sean! Absoloutly Brilliant! PS. Sean is a real sizzler, and just for the record I am not Afican American.

I thought that It was a good movie. I love Julia Stiles she is a extremly good actress. When I went to see this move I thought that it was mostly about dancing. Boy did I have the wrong idea. It dips more into the problems between black and white people. I would recommend it, but don't go in with the wrong idea like I did.

"Save the last Dance" was absolutely 'slammin' (haha)!!! It was so excellent!! It made me wanna get up and dance myself!!!! I cried like five times.!!!!!! Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas were so good together, both they're talents complimented each other!!! One to watch if you wanna laugh and cry!!!!!

Man! Best ever yet! Makes you wanna jump outta yer chair and dance with the guys on the screen! Even if you don't your feet well just keep on tapping and your head beatin' with the groove! Liked the story too! :)

This movie was a very predicable "teen" movie with a little bit of sex, violence and popular songs, enough to draw im almost all teenagers. The only thing that was a nice surprise in this movie was the performance by sean patrick thomas, who i predict we'll be seeing more of

This is the best movie that I've seen since John Singleton's Boyz N The Hood. If you're into hip-hop/ghetto dramas, this is a must-see. I also recommend Dangerous Minds, Colors, and Boyz N the Hood.

This movie goes to show you that race should not be a factor if you want a relationship cause all you have to do is live your dream. This movie i recommend for everyone to see. Julia Stiles is a wonderful actress and Sean Patrick Thomas is a great actor. Those two make a great team. So go and see this movie cause i know you will love it.

I thought Save the Last Dance was one of the few movies actually worth the $7.50 it costs to go see it! It went way past my expectations for MTV studios, and I thought that the story was very real, something I could really relate to. Julia Stiles is a fresh face among other manufactured actresses and Sean Patrick Thomas is a true talent and a passion. Together with an excellent storyline, Stiles and Thomas made for a great movie!
