There is and old saying that goes, "In the Pacific Northwest you don’t tan...you rust". Going to the beach and enduring the salt air and spray only accelerates the oxidation process.

A book and a bucket of beer. The beer lasts about an hour, and I don't get much reading done.

Depends on the beach. If it's the Jersey shore, then it's 1 star because of the amalgam of drunken, inbred guidos as well as the trash that occasionally floats down from NYC. Let's not forget that horrid NJ stench. If it's on a more isolated beach in Hawaii, Fiji or Bora Bora, then it's 5 stars.I am more of a mountain and forest kind of guy though.

Yes. Not a bad place. Spent my first two months in California everyday on the beach. Jobless, broke, and tan. Wasn't bad. Had to ignore the lie that is the wonderful California beach-full of cold water and kelp. But they are good memories.

When it's hot,it's nice to take a dip in the ocean. I spent lots of time hanging out on the beach as a kid & teen, but since my late teens, not so much. I'm not one to lay around to "get color",having worked outdoors a lot.Besides, too many beaches charge too much now for a daily pass. I do like the beach at night, though,in warm weather. It's peaceful.

Sorry...but I just don't get the concept. I can get the same social activity at a dinner party, the same view from a house or painting and so what am I left with? Looking out at a lot of water...actually, going to the beach seems to aggrevate me more than anything else. Well, to each his own.

Always good to look at the babes in bikinis.

Living about thirty minutes from the beach you'd think I would spend more time there, but we hardly go anymore. However, when we do go I do enjoy myself.

There is no better place to relax than on a beach! Grab a good book, a good friend, some sun screen and veg for hours! I have many favorite beaches including Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands; Megans Bay, St John US Virgin Islands and Avalon, NJ just to name a few! I am always open to suggestions for good beaches!

My favorite beach is Ft Myers beach on the west coast of Florida. Simply beautiful. I loved swimming in that ocean and walking on the beach. I'd love to go there again soon - last time I went was in May 2000.

Have you ever been pissed off on the beach? No, you haven't, because it's impossible. As long as the sun's out and it's warm the beach is a fun place. Everyone's scantily clothed, running around having a great time.

This will always be one of my favorite pastimes and even something I enjoy doing in the present. I can't wait for summer to hit so I can hit Daytona Beach and various other beaches in the area. Hot guys, suntanning, swimming, and just general socializing. Always a blast !

I love the beach, and I plan to spend a lot of time there this summer, since I now live on the coast. I love the crashing waves, the salt water, the salt moving between my toes.
