I THINK IN A REAL WAR THE RUSSIANS BUILD THIS PLANE TO HAVE AIR SUPERIORITY OVER EUROPE AND FOR THE USA THEY WILL USE A DIFFERENT STRATEGY LIKE TYFOON ORE AKULA AND POLYMIR2 SPACE ORBITER!!! THE RAPTOR IS ABETTER PLANE THAN THE SU 37 BUT THE RUSSIANS BUILD THEIR MACHINES SIMPLE FERY EFFICTIV AND CHEAP........ ON YOU TUBE YOU WILL SEE THEIR NEWEST ICBM SO THE SU 37 IS ONLY A SMALL PART OFF THEIR STRATEGY...BUT A GREAT PLANE TO SEE IT FLY.....

If it ever goes to war it would be shot down by the Raptor.

only comment F22 costs over a 127millions so you can afford to send 4 SU 37's after each f22 so yes i would say the su37 has the better edge, plus when you mention the advatages that the f22 has you actually forget about the fact that su37 has them too, after all humans can not fly faster than this, Americans are too confident Russia and US have never been to war, so when you compare US vs Iraqis using russian planes you are forgetting that aircrafts have great amounts of upgrades, you cant compare acer computers with dell you have to look at the specifications

Has a combat record of 0-0. In other words it has no air to air engagements. Its a test plane and only two of the 37 model even exist to the best of my knowlege.

This bad boy was engineered in one area: agility and speed. With its airframe and thrust vectoring, you can forget about beating one of these in a close quarters match but as long as we can take care of these at long range before giving out a radar signature with our F-22, these should be no match. Sorry Vlad.

It's not fair to give this airplane less than 5 Stars! it has it all! Agility, Maneuveribility, Hi-Tech, Beauty, Armament, & even Stealthiness (if you've ever heard about the plasma stealth project).

An amazing plane. A plane is only as good as its pilots can make it and Russian pilots are some of the best. I have read many articles and comments comparing this plane to F-22. It should be considered that the F-22 is supposed to be a multi-role aircraft and is trying to replace everything. The Su-37 was designed as a fighter. History has shown that better performance and records come from an aircraft made for a specific role. Since there have been no engagements of these aircraft (that I know of) I can only judge based on what the stats on paper say.

lots of opinions from arm chair pilots! fighters fight...the flanker is a show dog, great at air shows, bad place to sit in combat. western pilots who have flown east german planes say 'if the f-15 is a cadillac the 27 is a tractor' it has no way to close with a western 3rd generation fighter' it does not even display closure rates and enemy alt. and at knife edge its TO BIG, easy to see is easy to beat. "a match for the gripen" what are you smoking...the grip is 4th gen. 3rd gen fighters only fight 4th gen in video games...bad idea when your butt is on the line! note on turn rates....at the same speed and same g all planes turn at the same rate, most 3rd gen fighters can turn harder then the pilot can tolorate...the reclining position of the falcon pilot gives him 1 1/2 maybe 2 more gs of tolorance....any pilot sitting straight up in the seat can not turn with a reclined pilot. no more ideas from high school drop outs! basic physics people.

Russian equivalent of the American F-15 Strike Eagle. Amongst the best aircrafts of the world. Would be an interesting match for anything the West have to offer except for the F-22 Raptor.

The SU-37 has the advantage over the British EF-2000, French Rafale, and Swedish Grippen in any aspect and the US F-22's advantage over Su-37 is its srealthyness. But if this Su-37 have the stealth detecting radar then F-22 would be no match against Su-37.

Amazing aircraft, one step up from the SU-27, Lack of stealth is almost meaningless as passive radar (old radar) picks up F-117's easily.

Stealth does make a difference as does long range air to air missiles and radar. The Eastern Block fighter will probably never know what hit them when they search their radars, see nothing, then get hit by an air to air missile from nowhere. Works good at an air show, but talk about a target. In a war, I think the American Air Force will cut though like butter similar to the Army cutting through Iraq. The Russian planners told the Iraqis the Americans would take 6 months to fight through to Bagdad. Ha.

The Best jet fighter ever created. It's fuselage design makes it superior to any other aircraft in the world. Just adding the 3D TVC & the most advanced Russian Radars and avionic system will make it the best aircraft ever.

With thrust vectoring, powerful engines and unmatched maneuverability, this fighter must be the big rivalary of F/A-22. Su-37 Super Flanker is an equal to the Raptor and will easily beat the F-15. This fighter is probably the most maneuverable fighter yet. The only drawback of Su-37 is that it has a very large radar signature (6 square meters compared to the Raptor which have a radar signature of a wasp.) But this was sacrificed over stealth. Overall a superb fighter if you ask me.

This is a superb all around fighter. The analog instruments cost in weight and performance but overall a very good fighter. Engines are second to non in my opinion. Good match for F-15 or F-18. Russian pilots are some of the best in the world. In real world dog fight it would be a very tough fight for both the Russian bird and her opponent.

Possibly the most powerful Soviet fighter in the making. Has vector-thrust and superb maneuverability. Almost makes Eastern Bloc fighters look superior to ours.

I agree with the other guys. In my opinion the Russian fighers are better user-fighters than Americanbrand aircrafts. They can USE this fighter to it,s limit. They don't have to service the craft after every flight and thats a big deal. Ask the Americans how many hour they spent on the ground whith their fighters. Sensmoral: Air is a better element for a fighter. I think we have the same philosophy here in Sweden. In combat situations, you can't stand on the ground.

My favourite Russian fighter. This shows how powerful Russian fighters are. It is the equivelent to Western Theater F-15 Eagle. The Russians work on super manueverability while the Americans work on stealth and this shows it. I've always loved the Russian jets better anyhow ;)

This is one of the top fighters in the world, easily the equal of the Raptor or eurofighter, and is a vector jet to boot.
