I'm sure I've said this at least 100 times before, so I'll make it 101. I don't watch TV very much, but this one held my interest. It was never boring, and always had a good story line. I think the series ended too soon, in my opinion.

I watched Early Edition the first two seasons.I thought the show had a good idea. "What would you do if you could get tomorrows paper today?" Gary was the character who did get the "Early Edition" brought to him every morning by a cat. Gary was a good guy who used the information he knew to help others. For example maybe saving a child from getting hit by a car.He obviously could not talk about this special paper { except for a few close friends vowed to secrecy}It would get unwanted press or others would think he was "nuts". what i like about this show is it asks that question. of "If you had a paper that could tell the future one day ahead of time, how would YOU use it?"Lucky for Chicago where the show took place Gary was a good guy and helped unknowing strangers from harm.Kind of a neat topic for a show.

Early Edition had humor, whimsy, and an intelligence that required a great cast of actors to initiate, which this show certainly had...The ideas were great, the story lines amazing, I miss this show deeply! Where are you Gary!!!

Really one of the most interesting shows of this era, and Kyle Chandler was just terrific, the show was better with Fischer Stevens in it though.

For the first two seasons or so, this was one of the best shows on TV - fun to watch, clever plots, and intriguing premise, and good dialogue. It really presented a very realistic picture of what might happen if an average guy got the paper a day early. When I moved to Chicago, I seriously considered subscribing to the Sun-Times just to have it arrive on my doorstep in the morning. The show was that good.

Early Edition was a great mix of comedy and drama and was fun for the whole family to watch. I'm glad that PAX is airing reruns of it. It's a show about someone who willfully helps others, even at the risk of his own life. We need more shows like EE on.

For some reason I never got into it. It was a clever premise and all, but at times it seemed boring.

Early Edition was the best show ever to be put on television. It combined mystery, action, and comedy in an hour-long show. It should have never been taken off the air. It never went downhill at any point, and was never predictable or boring. Early Edition belongs back on the airwaves for good.

I Honestly think that Early Edition is the embodyment of classic television with a modern twist. This series is unmatched in it's integrity and has more class that the vast majority of the useless garbage on TV nowadays. It's a matter of principal really, what would you rather have your kids watch? Early Edition, a refreshing and interesting fantasy show that still manages to keep it real, or one of the "other shows" which will expose them to violence, drugs, and other nasty things kids shouldn't have to deal with? I think if we all had any sense we'd demand that the show be reinstated.

I enjoyed the early episodes of this show and watched it pretty much every time it came on. I stopped watching it when I was working on a project that took me while to complete, and when I started watching it again, it just wasn't the same. I didn't care of the later shows as much as I did the first ones.

What an excellent, original show that delivers exactly what it promises; nothing more nor less. The show doesn't insult the viewer, and once you accept the premise you can usually go with it. This is the kind of show that should have been on for years instead got cancelled prematurely. It reminds me of shows like The Incredible Hulk or The Rockford Files.. just good, watchable TV that's worth spending an hour with.

I agree with Snoopy here. Early Edition was a wonderful comedy-drama the first two seasons it was on. Then, CBS decided to aim EE at the Dr. Quinn/Touched by an Angel crowd by getting rid of Chuck Fishman (one of the FUNNIEST drama characters) and Detective Crumb, giving that lame Marissa more airtime, adding on an idiot girlfriend and her bratty son for Gary, making the show a lot more dramatic, sappy, and moralistic, and basicaly just sucking the life out of this once fun show. I would love to own the first two seasons on DVD, but the last two seasons should be burned. Networks should not be allowed to meddle with good shows.

I faintly remember this being aired over here and really warming up to the plot of the show with getting tomorrows newspaper and changing history - making sure that a bad event doesn't happen, like a little kid being run over. The characters were really good, with the blind woman as the conscience and the other guy thinking about how much money you could make and how famous you could become. The title music was really good as well. The show wasn't shown over here for long - so the ratings weren't that good.

How did this piece of crap make it to the top of the list? Early Edition was boring, predictable, and sappy. It was better than that awful Touched by an Angel though, but it still doesn't deserve to be listed above Wings, NewsRadio, and Mad About You.

I agree with all that Polgana stated in her commentary. This show had everything, including the best actor, ever. The best years, in my opinion were seasons 1 & 4, with #2 awfully close. Many of my favorite eps are in the 4th season. I much later found out that Kyle was also the Producer for the 4th season. This 4th season suffered so in that the show was always being pre-empted and was, at times, impossible to keep track of and find. The 3rd season was spoiled with the addition of the Evil Erica and her annoying kid, whom I know many fans did like. To me he was just another one (Erica being the first one) taking up screen time that should have belonged to Kyle/Gary. There was absolutely no chemistry between Kyle & Kristy. The 3rd season did give us one of the best episodes ever produced, tho, "Fate". Kyle was absolutely brilliant in this ep and should have won an Emmy award for his performance in it. I am still heartbroken in that CBS cancelled it. It was winning its time slo... Read more

This was one of the best shows on TV. Why they chose to cancel it, I will never understand. It had action, comedy, drama, romance, great writing and one of the best acting crews around. I loved Kyls Chandler as Gary Hobson. It was a challenging role in that it required him to really lay his heart and soul on the line, at times. Kyle was certainly up to the challenge. He made me feel all the emotional turmoil his character was going through. That takes real acting.

Early Edition is the only show I watch on television. Now a days, it's one of the only good shows left. With so much sex and violence on TV today, this is a great show that the family can watch together, and people get something out of it(mostly a life lesson). Sorry, this show is now for people who like to space out during a show, you'll be to excited and caught up in the action to have any time to think about anything else! There's something for everyone in this show.Early Edition rocks!

This show ROCKS!!!!! It's my all-time favorite and I've seen alot of shows both old and new, foriegn and domestic. I loved the stories and the actors were all great, except for Kristy Swanson of course. Thank God she was kicked out of the show at the end of season three. However, this show was still one of the best. It was original, had great acting, was well-written, and most importantly, was a great family show that people felt comfortable watching because it lacked all of the vulgarity that's seen in way too many shows these days. It proved that you don't need all of the B.S to be a great show. I have to give it a 5!

Early Edition was a very cheesy and sappy TV show. While I do think Kyle Chandler is a great actor, his character was as annoying as anything and the "feel good" plots just didn't sit too well with me.

I watched "Early Edition" on CBS when it came on Saturday nights back in 1997 through 2000, but I didn't really remember every episode, 'cause I was little (like in 3rd grade in 1997). So, I started watching the re-runs on Fox Family last summer, and never missed an episode yet! I tape every episode to watch over and over again! The whole cast is geat!! Even the guest stars! lol It comes on Tuesays at 10:00 PM ET on Fox Family Channel. Kyle Chandler (Gary Hobson on the show) is so talented, and I watch him in everythig he's in on TV and movies, especially What About Joan" Tuesdays at 8:30 PM ET on ABC now! Both shows RULE!!!!!

Early Edition was and still is one of my favorite shows! I loved the fact that it was based on helping other people no matter what! We need more people like Gary Hobson, maybe there wouldn't be as much hate in the world. Plus Kyle Chandler is such a wonderful actor, I could watch him in Early Edition all the time. Love the show!

Early Edition was a wonderful show the first 2 seasons it was on (1996-1998). The plots were sometimes a bit corny, but the writing and acting were wonderful. It was a nice, light comedy-drama for adults. Unfortunately, when the 3rd season came along, the producers apparently decided to aim the show at families and younger viewers and it just wasn't the same. If I was just rating the first 2 seasons, I'd give Early Edition 5 stars, but for the 3rd and 4th season, I can only give 3 stars, averaging out to 4 stars. Still an underrated show though. I just wish they didn't ruin it.
