The dentist

Giant needles and the drilling sounds...no...but I hate it when they try and talk to you and ask you questions when you are having your teeth worked on.

i have to say i'm scared of going to the dentist!

I never used to be afraid of the dentist, because even when I wasn't assiduous in my care of my teeth as a kid, they never really presented me with any problems (I never had a cavity until I hit middle-age; my birth mother says that's because she drank a lot of milk when she was pregnant with me). Last year, though, I had to have wisdom teeth removed, and I have to say that the prospect of that terrified me. At one point, I was tempted to call the dental surgeon and cancel the appointment, but I imagined Don Corleone standing in front of me, grabbing me by the lapels and shrieking, "What do I do? What do I do? You can start by acting like a man, that's what you can do!" I HATE the dentist!!! Why does it have to hurt so damn much!? Seems like it hurts even more now that Im older then when I was a kid. I only go if I absolutely have to. Cause expensive dentist will try to find reasons for you to keep coming back. I hate em lol

1 cavity. when they pull out the needle. i come unglued!!!!!!!!! so i brush like 7 times a day... ask my friends

IM NOT SCARED

Dentistry has come a long way in the last 15 years. It's not as bad as your parents' dental horror stories.  My guy is quite hilarious.  I have major work done on a back molar and was in the chair for an hour and actually wasn't bad at all.  I find dentistry to be one of those trades that has aged quite well.

I love the dentist. Granted I've never had a cavity or orthodontics so that helps quite a lot.

It's like anything...a bad experience or two can create anxiety for future visits.

I work for dental insurance. Some of the stories I hear about subpar dentists would have you curled up in the corner crying

I think all people at one time or another are afraid of the dentist, and that again is due to the unexpected.
