This show is great beacause... -The pop-culture references! -Knowledge is used as one of the characters features! -It's about a great mother and daughter -Alexis Bledel & Lauren Graham have a great chemistry -The supporting cast are great with each episode -It wasn't overplayed or overhyped and ended way too soon! -It's on tv everyday, which means you can NEVER miss it Also, every smart guy in the world(who has seen this show) loves Rory Gilmore. Every guy also wishes he had found a Rory Gilmore in his own life. I think that's just great. She's a great role model too.

A few years ago, I got a chance to catch a few episodes of this program due to curiosity getting the best of me, and I wanted to see what it was like. As one can see by my rating, what I watched of it just didn't impress me. All I saw was a mother in her thirties who was concentrating more on "buddying" with her teenage daughter than being example to her as a mother should be. Yes, it's true that mothers and daughters (family members, in general) should love and support each other, and it's completely fine for them to relate to one another and have the same tastes in various things from music to clothes, and to have some of the same opinions about things. But that's an entirely different thing when an adult woman won't grow up and be an authority figure, putting the foot down as the need arises. Maybe other episodes were different, but the ones I saw were along these lines. There is much better-quality programming than this.

So yea, the amount of one-liners is unrealistic, but it's still funny. Most shows aren't based on anything realistic anyway. Even "reality tv" is scripted, so who cares? Just let me enjoy my hilarious family drama in peace ;-)

Gilmore Girls is an excellent show. It is witty and quick and I love it because it doesn't have a laugh track. If you don't understand a reference or a comment made then it doesn't detract from the show and you aren't left feeling "hm, why wasn't I laughing like all those people in the studio?" It has changed a little the past couple of years but I think it has changed for the better. The storylines are a little more dramatic but the characters are older so I think it's fitting.

It's one of my regulars although I occasionally get a little too much of its ping-pong repartee. Normally that's the best part. I really like that Lorelai and Luke are together and hope it stays that way.

I get a kick out of Martha. This show makes her physically ill! I guess all women don't go gaga over this tripe.

The show was great in its first couple of seasons and i loved the witty dialogue. But now it seems like the producers are trying to hard to be witty and funny that the some of the dialogue is starting to sound stupid. I used to like Rory's character, but now frankly, i find her annoying.

I think that this is a great show. It's witty, and I always find myself smiling at the TV because of the things that they say. It has a lot of heart, and is really consistent, which is always a plus. I love all of the characters, but I have to take the time to spotlight Emily. She is so funny...especially when it comes to reprimanding Lorelei.

I enjoy watching this show. There's something about Lauren Graham. The writing is witty, and who cares if the dialogue isn't entirely realistic? Last I checked Star Wars wasn't getting any Based-on-a-True-Story awards. And some people love it.

I've always enjoyed a visit to Stars Hollow. Rory has become disappointing of late, the townies overdo it, and we never needed to see Kirk without his shirt, but Lorelai, Luke, Mama Kim, and Emily are enough to keep me in love with Gilmore Girls. This season was strong and I have high hopes for season six.

This show is absoultley riveting! The charaters are so alive and real. I almost feel like I live in stars hollow. You feel like you can relate to the characters, and at the same time your a laughing at the witty dialog. One of the Best Shows on TV. Keep it up WB.

Gilmore Girls is the total package. Drama, humor, family & love. You get all these emotions in one episode. Doesn't hurt that Lauren Graham is a fantastic actress who deserves more reconition than she gets. That rest of the cast is amazing to. Alexis Bledel is a breath of fresh air. Edward Hermann, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson are superb. You could not ask for a better show. Plus you never know which direction Amy (The creator) will take the story. If you want something worth watching, take a look at Gilmore Girls. Go ahead, turn off American Idol, I dare you. American Idol is the same outcome over and over again. Take a chance, Watch the Gilmore Girls, betcha get hooked.

This always looked so dorky in the comercials, but I have been watching the reruns on ABC Family, and it is actually rather comical. The Friday night dinner scenes have produced some of the best arguments I have ever seen (How do you mix up Anton and Sophia? What do you mean? Well, one is a man and one is a woman. What's your point? That one is a man and one is a woman. Frankly Laurelai, I don't have time to keep up with the multitudes of people that your mother hires. But one is a man and one is a woman.). The mother may be a little spacey at times, but the clutsy, somewhat eccentric hotel staff and the rest of the characters in what is in my opinion the quirkiest town in America more than make up for it.

The plot is a bit repetitive, with the same old story line of a mother with commitment issues, or hidden emotions for another character which causes a streak of failed relationships, and a daughter who is the surviving comfortably in the upper class life of Yale University, in which she was destined to attend since her birth (for a few episodes, Im sure viewers were at risk of heart attacks from the exciting debate between a girl attending Yale or Harvard), because she was born a bright and brilliant student from the moment she exited her mother's womb (and we see this in the episodes of her high school life, where we discover the thrills of high school politics yup, still wetting my pants with anticipation over that one). The characters seem inconsistent with their reactions to other characters, and the psychology behind their actions and dialogue isn't realistic (or perhaps it's poor acting... who knows?). The plot is horribly over-exaggerated, which may be a poor attempt to portray ... Read more

I like this show & the two main characters. But they make these people speak way too fast. It's like they are trying to cram as much as they can into an hour. That Paris character is grating & looks like an old woman not a college kid.

Sometimes the girls talk way too much, but overall the show is very entertaining to me. I think it is great when any television show promotes family values, whether it be a single parent household or otherwise. This show represents that mothers and daughters can actually get along ! Going into next season is going to be quite the ride. Stay tuned !

Other than being very boring, the shows acting is the worst I have seen. They talk back and forth so quickly they might as well hold the scripts in their hands. cmon can we please be realistic? Have any of you had a conversation before? They do not sound like that. The plot never changes. Its always school this school that or my boyfriend this my boyfriend that blah blah blah boring. Not to mention that rory is 20 years old and her mom is probably 30 tops. So she had rory when she was 10? They are way too close in age. so annoying to watch. Tak some acting lessons ladies.

I like this show for its spot on alt. rock references and the quirkiness of the main characters. I dont find Gilmore Girls especially true to life, but then again I'm not sure that realism is something the writers are aiming for. Stars Hollow certainly seems like a fairy tale town and the residents almost caricatures. Lauren Graham is fantastic and headed for silver screen stardom.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE this show. When I hear their stupid voices delivering EVERY LINE in the same exact way every week and EVERY CHARACTER sounding exactly the same it makes me want to drive a blunt instrument through my brain to relieve the pain. This show is so horrible it defies description.

Gilmore Girls just keeps the laughs coming. It's fun to just listen and see what is going to come out of their mouth! Quirky is definitely a good word for this show. Not the same old sitcom formula. I contnue to be entertained even though I have watched from the premiere.

What was the WB waiting for?! This is exactly what your public wants!...Exactly what I want - and everyone else I know, for that matter. GILMORE GIRLS is as refreshing as it is funny, serious, romantic and all of the above. Most of all, it is very realistic. Five stars is an understatement - - All of the actors and writers on this show deserve the highest praise - - I hope it outruns all of the top-running shows & breaks a record. I love every single episode starting with the first season >> My only request is: is is defenitely time to proceed with Luke & Lorelai's relationship. Thank You for having Luke seperated IMMEDIATELY after getting married - don't scare us like that again please.
