Someday, the sun will poop out if we don't pollute ourselves into oblivion or blow our planet to bits at the behest of maniacal power fiends. It's not "The End" that's scary,it's the STUPIDITY.

If it happens, it happens. No point stressing over it. I love the earth and wish I could live forever on it. But, if the end were to come there would be nothing I could do about it.

I guess everyone believes it will happen sooner or later, and I've never seen the sense in fearing the inevitable. If it should happen in my lifetime I just hope I'm not doing something that sucks, like waiting in line behind someone buying a ton of lottery tickets or rushing to the bathroom. When the world ends, there will be a lot of questions answered. A lot of people will be proven right, a lot of them proven wrong, and nobody will be left to gloat or make a "Now that the world is over" list.

Oh I know it is coming to an end, I have read the last book of the Bible! I even know how it is going to end...just not sure when it will.

The planet's eventual engulfment in an expanding sun is probably a few years after my personal demise. I have enough things to worry about without that. And now, having skimmed through a page or two of the reviews on this item, I'm worried about the decline of human intelligence.

I can't remember where, but somewhere in the bible it says the end of the world will eventually come. It keeps you wondering, is global warming, and/or the recession a sign the end is on it's way, or is it just another result of human ignorance?

The end of humanity will come millions, maybe billions of years before the end of the world. And we will fade away so gradually that I doubt anyone will notice our absence by the time we are gone.  Of course L. Ron Hubbard might see it differently.

I feel like I'm good with God, and although science can't prove God's existence, it can't disprove it either. If there were no God we'd really have nothing to worry about.

The only part about the world's end that I find scary is the number of lost people.

"thatz 5 billion years away........" Not necessarily. The world could end at any moment, but I'm sure we'd know in advance if and when it does. I've thought about it often and scared myself about it, but over all it's not all that scary. I'm not sure how it could happen and I don't particularly care to know how. I just know that when it happens, I won't fret. I'll try to say good-bye to as many people as I can, sit back, and let it happen. Why worry at a time like that when there's nothing you can really do? You'll be dead soon, anyway. Dying doesn't have to be a bad thing. (Unless you purposely kill yourself.)

The apocalyptic brand of theology seems entirely irrational to me. It's interesting to converse with people who feel differently (I lived in the Midwest briefly, and this conversation came up more frequently than I'd like to admit), of course, but it seems like the uniting factor between people who strongly believe this will happen sooner (as in within this lifetime), rather than later (as in never) is a general dissatisfaction with the life they actually have and an aspiration towards being proven right more than anything else. I suppose I'm ignoring the fact that this could occur as a result of our horrific disregard for the environment, but I'd like to think we can innovate ourselves away from that particular ledge. Call me an optimist, I guess.
