Low rent Dr. Pepper. Anyway, I heard a rumor that the reason we haven't really seen site management around at all is because Magellan sold the site for a case of this shit and a dollar to Edward James Olmos.

Some below claim that it's not actually discontinued, and I honestly thought the same thing. It turns out that Mr. Pibb is technically discontinued, as they dropped the Mr. Pibb name and relabeled it Pibb Xtra, which is basically the same thing.

It should be discontinued but it just got rebranded. It tastes like brake fluid.

Haven't had it in awhile, since it's not available here up north anymore. Probably just as well.

I remember going to a summer camp that only sold Coke products, and Mr. Pibb and Mello Yello were great replacements for Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew. I have fond memories of Mr. Pibb.

Not bad kind of a knock-off of Dr. Pepper. I always thought the name sounded goofy. They call me Mr. Pibbs!

Mr. Pibb is Coca-cola's version of Dr. Pepper. I believe Coke and Pepsi both perform bottling operations for Dr. Pepper so it's not widely marketed for purchase at the grocery store, but is often what you'll get at a fountain beverage dispenser that offers other Coke products. It has been around since 1972 and continues to be available. This list is pretty bad.

I don't know for sure, but I think they still make this. I think it depends on the region you're from and the store you shop in. Anyway, it tastes just like Dr. Pepper, which in turn, tastes just like carbonated prune juice. No thank you.

Lets see Mr Pibb.....Dr Pepper is not even close to this taste but if you like the taste of Dr Pepper open up a Mr. Pibb and let it go flat....there now you have your Dr Pepper....the fountain Mr Pibb is really the best you can find it at most Wendys and at Long horn steak houses....the 2 ltre bottles are really good also....its all in the fizz and the lime like taste......if Coke promoted this drink it would smash Dr. Pepper.....

Coke can call this a "spiced cherry flavored soda" but we all know that this is Dr. Pepper with a different name. I think you can most often find this drink at Wendy's, where everyone else actually serves the real Dr. Pepper. But ya cant hate on it! Still quite tasty!

Poor man's Dr. Pepper is what I think of when I think of Mr. Pibb. I like it though. I think it has a nice flavor, but does almost taste like Dr. Pepper. The only time I drink this is at Wendy's since its such an unusual soda to have on a menu. I can't say I have ever bought it in a bottle, but its a good soda!

Still found and avoided in soda fountains that don't have Dr. Pepper for some confusing reason. Its also still no substitute.

A cheap Dr. Pepper. Still being sold-amazingly!! But as long as there is Dr.Pepper, Mr. Pibb will always suck.

Coke is so stupid. First they sell this recipe to Pepsi, then they realize that what a valuable recipe they lost so they introduce Mr. Pibb which is the same damned thing, but seems more loserville somehow. Since it tastes EXACTLY the same as Dr. Pepper I enjoy its existance. This way I still can get it at restaurants that only sell coke products. Still, I think that Mr. Pibb will always be a poor mans Dr. Pepper.

Redneck Dr. Pepper. . .saw it in a grocery store in some fecal-hole in NC and actually wound up enjoying it. A decent experience.

This isn't discontinued, and I know at least one person that would run through the streets screaming if it ever were. For myself, I could always take it or leave it. Was good if there was no Dr. Pepper.

OK, but not on par with Dr Pepper. Tastes like carbonated prune juice.

Delicious as Coca-Cola tries to mimic Dr. Pepper, but a nice alternative.

I have no problem drinking this if there is no Dr. Pepper. I'm not that picky when it comes to soda.

They haven't discontinued it. I saw it at the fountain when I went to Del Taco the other day. It's not bad, but it's nothing special. Dr. Pepper-type sodas aren't my favorite by a long shot.

    A) not discontinued, just not available except off the fountain. B) a poor substitute for Dr. Pepper, but better then nothing.

Mr.Pibb is smoother than Dr.Pepper, it doesn't have that medicinal flavor that Dr.Pepper has. I think it's still manufactured, I could be wrong though.

Until I read this, I had no idea that original Pibb is gone.. Tis a pity, Pibb was exceptional in flavor, high in carbonation and whenever I had heartburn, nothing worked better at producing a relieving belch. Pibb Extra ain't bad - could the extra simply be an attempt at rebranding the product? Like Dr. Pepper with a little cherry flavor on the top.

I dont know how anyone can think about pibb being less fizzy, unless they got it from an ill tuned soda fountain. Much more dare i say complex taste than dr pepper, and way way more carbonated. I prefer this to the Dr, hands down.

Mr. Pibb is generally interchangeable with Dr. Pepper (though I prefer the latter when given the option), which is my second choice after Coke (and definitely before Pepsi most of the time). The drink has a crisp, sweet taste with a hint of bite from a pepperish undertone.

Better than Dr Pepper, it's not as thick tasting, and has more fiz to it.
