Wow. Brought back a bottle of Havana Club Cuba Barrel Select. This is the most amazing rum ever. Probably very hard to get outside of Cuba though.

When I was in Mexico I tried several varieties of Havana Club.  I bought the Añejo Gran Reserva and drank it warm straight out of the bottle. To this day it's one of my favorite rums.  The white is also very good, far superior to bacardi or anything in its price range.  If you can get a bottle of anything Havana Club give it a try.

I am Cuban, iv'e been around this stuff all my life, but now that i live in the states, i can assure you that i would pick Havana Club any day of the week over pretty much any other rum or licor in this country. Its so smooth and you can drink it straight or mixed without thinking it twice. I just love it, and of cours sneaking it through customs is exiting!

Recently brought a litre home from Zurich. Tasted it next to Pyrat Cask 23 (1623). Probably one of the best rums I have ever had with the exception of Cask 23. Cask 23 is still head and shoulders above all others. Havana is clearly number 2 of the sipping premium rums I have sampled.

This is, by far, the best Rum I've ever had. The white is smooth and great for cocktails, but my favourite daily drinker (with Coke)is the 3 year old rum. It's a very pale amber colour and gets its color from the oak barrels used in ageing. The ageing imparts a smooth, mellow character and I find it different from any rum I've ever tasted. Likewise the Anejo is a fine, albeit heavier daily drink. The 7 year old is the smoothest rum I've ever consumed. Why the Americans deny themselves such luxury over a grudge related to an island as non-threatening as Cuba is beyond me!

This stuff is the shizzle! I love it. It reminds of licorice. When you make a Cuba Libre, you really feel free. Havana Club is strong so be forwarned in case you are tipsy before you finish the first shot. You can make wonderful flambe bananas and rum cake with Havana Club. Have fun!!

The 7 year is dry and complex, better than most aged scotches. Only thing better that I've tasted are 12 year Flor De Cana from Nicaragua and the amazing 15 year Eldorado from Guanya.

This is an interesting web site, you have rated bacardi 151 higher that Havana Club. C'mon. I have been drinking Rums all over the world. Havana is very good and not just because it is illegal (I have never had a problem bringing it in, the customs people are currently worried about REAL bad stuff). I would rate this, the 15 year old Matusalam, amd the Bacardi 8 year old as the best I have ever tasted. OF course, the Bacardi 8 is far and away the best deal but, whenever I go out of the country, I get some Havana Club. By the way, the Havana Club is without a doubt the best o drink with a cigar, crush some mint leaves in the galss, pour over ice and light up. Hot Damn!

This is miles ahead of any other rum on this list. Very mellow and refined.

This is a superb Rom. If you should make a Moijoto this is the only one to use as a base

Just spent twelve days in Cuba downing all the varieties of HC. For drinking straight, you can't beat the five year old (seven is good but tastes more like whiskey). Enjoyed it so much I ended up singing the Titanic song at 4 am (without recollection the next day)

First time I got drunk, I was drinking Havana Club. I puked in my friend's car at the theater, on the same day that 12 Monkeys came out. One hour later, right after I got kicked out of the theater, my friend's parents saw me puking inside my friend's car in the parking lot.

A Cuban friend of mine introduced me to this Rum in a bar in Mexico City. This stuff is so smooth that I was able to drink it straight, on the rocks.... and enjoy it. Gives you a nice warm buzz. Somehow it's made more desirable by the fact that, like Cuban cigars, it is illegal in the US.
